But end of the day there are so many bodies it’s a toss up what teams wins.

Regarding one team inting… farm the team they’re feeding. But again it highly depends on how skilled your team is. If your dps is lacking it will be hard to do

But yeah ultimately shot calling and doing big dick deeps is the only thing you can really do

Basically coming into it with a days worth of Frontline experience and practice with a single Monk DPS rotation

And was popping off with like a 3 kill streak. Never have I ever received 3 commendations as a Monk for anything before lmao it was a rush

You're on Crystal? It's 11AM-ish EST. People are at school / work and I'm assuming you're unranked. You'll have a tough time getting pops for PvP (and even PF for PvE raids) at this hour.

Try again in a few hours during prime time.

Do keep in mind you're extremely late to the season. Due to how rating works most players have already brute forced to gold or they've quit feast all together because it was too difficult for them.

Queue for ranked later. Do healer for best chance at pops

1. you know what you like / feels good
2. you know a little about those jobs and in ffxiv pvp knowledge is very important

If you are just dueling (1v1) healer or gnb are unkillable for melee I'd say it depends on your comfort between Sam and monk. Ninja is good too but struggles after a heavy burst since they have low gcd dmg

Not sure if any WoW players that actively pvp are here. In revival a few folks have played both and generally mention pros and cons of each.

Most common pro here is that everyone is on even footing since stats are normalized and CC doesn’t last long.

Beyond that you would have to find someone that did both. Cherry is a new revival staff that plays both actively

The answer is not the healer unless they’re brand new

From there the answer is it depends. Generally your target is the win condition. For first burst any target is fair game if you have an actual reason for calling on them

Just know that you won’t kill a semi experienced healer unless they’re asleep at the wheel / don’t have purify unless your burst and CC is on point. And even then it’s part luck/ part then not expecting it. So if you’re training the healer all game you’re doing more harm than good

Each match is at most 6min. If you are neutral 50% win rate, you need 1200min or 50hrs of total feast time as a high estimate. Doesnt include queue wait time tho

everything works in fl/rw and to a lesser extent the feast. in the feast some jobs are harder than the others but still doable until the highest levels and even then its doable but requires a lot of effort and patience to learn

Imo, for specifically fl, the importance of bh should be highlighted .

I was a bot for the longest time in fl until I read a guide on akhmorning, and them explaining that bh gives up to 50% damage and heal, and I lose half bh upon death.

Since then I've been more aware of the consequences of my deaths, and generally more aware of what's going on in the game.

• queueing further than the first daily fl also gives respectable exp / tomestones. I thought that matches after the first daily fl doesn't give rewards so I only played once per day max.
• range attacks on melee jobs are not a joke like in pve
• it's not lag, it's just server tick doing its thing
• further resources / community for pvp

Hey people I have a question about the healers in the game. Can anyone of them be decent in pvp?

well you need a healer in your party if you want to sustain in fight

like PVE, White Mage is pretty simplistic in their tools and doesn't need a lot of forethought

PVP Scholar is about maximizing your use of Dissipation to gain back charges of your aoe oGCD and single target oGCD, along with boosting your healing power for Physick/Adlo/Succor

said dissipation uses up 50 of your fairy gauge, which is charged by using your DPS spells or using your GCD heals (Physick/Adlo/Succor) in combat on people missing HP

PVP Astrologian kinda has Red Mage's dualcast mechanic for their healing. Benefic 1 and Malefic IV gives you a buff called "Abridged" which makes your next GCD spell instant cast.

The card system for AST is extremely simplified; you either draw Lord of Crowns, which increases damage done by a party member, or you draw Lady of Crowns, which reduces the damage they take.

The feast basics goes over the… basics.

Also outside of community organizing, training won’t pop during a season. Your best best is to queue healer in ranked

You’ll have the best chance of getting a pop then as long as you queue during prime time hours.

But keep in mind you’re queueing at the tail end of the season (it ends on EW launch) so most people either:

• Climbed out of low ranks
• Got hard stuck in low ranks and quit

There are random pops though. In revival we ping the feast role if low ranks start popping as long as people report it. So feel free to join and read the intro to get proper roles. If you get a pop let people know

head to wolves ben pier and set up your hotbars and test your abilities on the training dummies there cause the PvP abilities are different than how they work in PvE. Read your tooltips, adjust your additionals, join the pvp discords if you really want to learn your burst rotations, queue up frontlines roulette and start learning (and use your medkits)

This means you can brute force a climb. Values may be adjust a few points depending on teams MMR

That being said it’s too late now. You’re asking about it when the season is about to end. So it will be very difficult/impossible to do so

You’re a bit late. Season is over in a month. People either:

Their big move is bloodspiller for only 1800 potency. Assumed used deliruim and had max gauge thats 9k dmg (before soaring of high) with edge of shadow weaved for 1k potency. none if this should kill you through potions especially since its not instant but over multiple gcds

I hope you all are enjoying your time with us in the Revival and I hope you will continue to support us as we enter Endwalker and welcome a brand new PvP mode!

I wanted to take this opportunity to bring attention to a project that @cafe owner rhia rys has been working on. But first a little background.

Revival originally started years ago as a Rival Wings focused community. As we grew in popularity, we also grew in size. We grew from supporting Aether only, to Primal, to Crystal and EU as well. Even during this time we had a clear goal: to provide a safe and fun community for players of all skill levels to enjoy playing together.

Over time we expanded our horizons and began supporting other PvP modes, but our main focus has never changed...we still strive to be a safe and fun community where players of all skill levels can come together, have fun and learn from each other... elevate each other.

This tournament ran by Rhia is a testament to how we've grown. Join us as we celebrate a group of players that were new to The Feast and put in time and effort to take their skill to the next level. Join us as we celebrate our community, our growth, our partners and most of all, everyone that decided to give PvP a shot and fell in love with it.

Frontline: Daily pops during your data centers prime time hours. Join Revival and talk to folks from your DC to find out when that is if you're unsure

Rival Wings: Pops a lot / every day during tomes. Outside of tomes it pops during the Revival weekly scheduled runs.

Feast: Starts a new season strong, slows down as the season progresses because people climb up leaving low ranks unpopulated / people gave up.

Any? Curious about tank. But so far I only really would play BLM since it seemed easyish and I can get kills occasionally. More deaths by a large margin but at least one or two kills.

easiest tank would be drk but war is strong and not really that difficult other than having to use a macro for nascent and being mindful of where your party is (but thats everyone in fl tbh)

Generally if new it's best to keep it was an escape instead of gap closing. Keep in mind the damage is also good

Think of mobas. You farm early game to become powerful late game

you're very late to the party. the season ends in a few days. low ranks wont pop because of how rating works:

+25 every rank for a win

0 lost unranked
-5 bronze
-10 silver

ETC. This means that players get pushed to plat even if they dont deserve to rank up

if you just want achievements best bet is to join revival and add feast roles for your dc so you receive notifications about events and queues popping.

I don't really understand how you succeed in Frontline.

Since I'm always getting mauled no matter what class I play.

As ranged classes I get dived and die in seconds.

As tanks I don't get to do much of anything before I'm focused down.

As melee and Caster DPS I can't even dream of getting a rotation out before I get peppered to death by MCH and White Mages.

So I almost always wind up just faffing about trying to hit anyone I can before inevitably dying.

If you're getting dove as ranged then you're positioning badly and over extending.

Theres an entire guide for tanks and it goes over the strength of each one. I'd check that out.

from what i've learn in my almost 2 months of playing pvp to avoid getting melted by zerg be aware of your surrounding and don't chase kills especially if you are getting far away from your team.

Most players in FL run away in fights especially 1v1 or will bait a 1v1 and lure you to their group which is annoying but understandable.

but that depends which job you play because i'm a monk so i need to be in melee range to burst so i have to be really careful when to dive or else just hope for the best im not their whole teams target.

Well i try the game after reading mostly negative reviews of pvp but i still tried it and i can say just what they suggest try it yourself because imo its fun.

i jump right into pvp after i level 30 and while doing msq when i feel bored i jump back to pvp until there is no queue pops then back to msq vice versa.

there's healer role for now. 6.1 will be the big changes to roles and nobody knows for certain how things will go. yoshida has said that the burden of healing will be shifted from healers to the individuals

yes you can play as healer and its the most annoying class to fight in pvp imo as monk especially if 1v1 i just ignore them.

If you just look at potencies you will never do more damage than they can heal

Only exception is a mix of the healer being absolutely terrible and the dps having soaring / battle high

Healers aren't immortal though. I always suggest people that think healers are op to try it themselves

pvp is weird. I like how game is heavily geared for dungeons/pve but it has me lose interestest when you have to somewhat relearn how to play the game after spending weeks to level a class and even longer to play it right only to RELEARN for PVP.

doesn't seem 'too' hard since the abilities are super limited. But idk, its just a super weird call for a MMO. I don't think its 'bad' Just kinda expected why it would be the least favorite aspect of the game.

PvE kits wouldn't work in PvP. The PvP kits are silly easy to learn though. People just don't like losing, go in blind then complain that everyone else is OP

The biggest thing holding PvP back imo is the lack of player skill. When we do queue syncs for Frontline it's so much fun since everyone at least cares about PvP and knows the basics

If there was less "I'm just here for tomes" then match quality wouldn't be so low

That being said PvP is still fun. And I'm expecting crystal conflict to attract more players, making matchmaking actually separate by skill and not let bad players mess up high rank matches

Also the rules are so heavily simplified that there's no way people can mess up and not understand...right?

Not sure but i read somewhere that ffxiv hired a several former guild wars developer who focuses in pvp back in arenanet. I wish its true and it can help ffxiv pvp mode to be appealing to others.

The general opinion outside of PvP, and from those who never actually try it would be "PvP sucks, boosters and traders everywhere!" And from my experience the majority who try it and actually play will start to really enjoy it. Even zepla and other larger pve streamers have said the same :)

You get 1000 per roulette + rewards for participating in a match depending on your GCs rating:
1st - 1000
2nd - 800
3rd - 600

If you're on a losing streak (read "not 1st place") there is a multiplier that is applied to your winnings that ends on your next 1st place win.

There's additional Wolf Marks from the challenge log for participating in 7 Frontlines matches, and another for winning 3 matches.

Don't fret trying to win 1st place all the time, it gets difficult to coordinate 24 people at once, and sometimes even the best coordination isn't enough. As long as you're having fun and trying your best, that's all that matters.

The "gear" are really just glams, but they're very rare ones. Top 100 rewards Wolf Collars to exchange for these glams, mounts, and so on.

Season 20 of the Feast ended at early access and is being replaced by Crystal Conflict in ~6.1

The server here is mostly PvE oriented, but there's more of us than this channel. Plenty of resources, vets, and like-minded folks who want to improve their skills on the battlefield against their fellow WoLs, all on a couple of communities on other servers, which are much more active than here

You just won't see a lot of activity here because folks here simply don't want to try it due to misguided conniptions about the PvP ecosystem

Plenty of folks use PvP as an alternative to leveling their jobs

And even if you aren't comfortable with using the job you're leveling with in PvP, you can switch to a different job and retain the EXP rewards for the one you queued in with

A word of caution, your hotbars in PvP are organized differently from their PvE counterparts

It will do you well to go to the Wolve's Den to set them up first before queueing for Frontlines/RW
