they’ll probably iterate on evolved in coming fanfests and demo them there but i’m just wondering how reborn will still be “familiar” enough with the 2m meta thrown out

My mindset is just that if they are that worried about there being lots of issues coming as a result of the Evolved mode then doubling their workload by committing to maintaining and balancing the functional equivalent of 44 jobs seems to be like a natural roadblock in their ability to do that

The thing about a transition period is you kind of don't want to be in them forever because dealing with two systems at once just creates headaches and impedes your ability to work on the new thing
And even if we assume Reborn is being abandoned as early as 9.0 that's still probably close to 3 years of lifetime where they have to manage the game having both
They are only doing what people asked for. But this conversation is the exact reason why they keep both. Because people say they want something, then claim foul when they get it. 'No not like THAT'
they can’t put their full energy towards both cuz obvious time and resource constraints so either reborn oldheads are gonna complain or people trying evolved are gonna complain
and then balancing that around savage is gonna be a whole other question

In this discussion, I am very specifically and exclusively talking about what I see as the clear issues that are going to arise from attempting to maintain the equivalent of 44 jobs as a result of keeping the new and old versions of all the jobs
While I have opinions on some of the specific changes for PLD/WHM/BRD/DRG, which I have described as varying from bad to great, they are incidental to the point I am making
And IM saying is that theres a reason. And I also doubt they will keep both beyond 9.0

If their goal is to have a fallback in case of issues with Evolved, then I wonder whether the presence of this massively increased workload is going to function as a roadblock to fixing those very issues, because now they have more things they have to be concerned with

Considering new jobs only have evolved mode I can see reborn being phased out in 9.0
9 months is a lot of time for stuff to change and we have two more fanfests to go
If they openly said that they're simply not going to put as much effort into Reborn and its mostly there as a failsafe/fallback option for people and they're likely going to phase it out come 9.0 or possibly even earlier if there are no issues with the rollout of Evolved mode I would probably be a lot more confident about the split

where in the fight does tsukuyomi unreal usually end with current or around current ilvl? im watching the video guide but im curious how far in i actually need to remember 
it'll die during the final phase where it's a bunch of in/out left/rights with the various other overlaps
believe it or not idyllic is actually quite simple to execute

it's the total removal of raidbuffs that people are sad about
Honestly the most interesting thing to me about the evolved stuff is every group internally seems split on their opinions
yea unfortunately we just dont have details on if its ALL buffs, or just most buffs
All that matters to me with evolved is if the gameplay is fun
bard buffs from what has been shown has only been utility and not dps buffs

Removing raid buffs in their entirity does make it feel a lot less like a team game. That's not inheritly a good or bad thing.

there's no reason to hoard resource and make overcap a concern without buffs
if there is raid buffs, there will be damage optimization around it

What we've seen of evo seems to be a system where everything you do is optimal
and that's boring af
feels like they're just removing buff windows
but dont know we've only seen 4 out of 21 jobs. and they arent even complete

its not accurate at all to in the actual duty

- SSS does not account for a job’s RDPS contribution via skills like Battle Voice
- SSS is a 3 minute burst window where you adjust your rotation to fit in that period and does not reflect a realistic raid scenario
- Different jobs will be in peaks and troughs of their burst windows
- Different jobs have different SSS dps requirements
- SSS is not accurately tuned for the jobs they are supposed to represent in most cases
- 3 minutes is short enough to be able to be affected by lucky DH Crit bursts
- Certain jobs gain dps by having additional party members like Dancer/Monk
beating it is usually a good sign but falling short isn't always a bad sign
I remember clearing e4s then failing the sss dummy
I haven't unlocked the ones past shb
they're not all that useful
If I want to practice my rotation I'll hit the dummy at my FC house
and if I want to practice my opener I'll go into an old savage/ex and jump off to reset cd

I think it's mostly just MT having counterattack actions that arbitrarily punish them for not holding aggro

From what we saw of PLD, they're not removing the "staples" of the job to make it fit the role. PLD still has its party mits and cover, which are more OT things. I'm sure WAR will be fine

ig ults aren't as big of a deal since OT gets to do mechanics, even war does more invulns in FRU as OT than as MT

All the jobs before this new expac will have a “reborn” mode which is how they work now
that seems like a whole other optimization headache to deal with....

though evo is supposed to do more damage so you're still taking a hit going reborn to mt
