To elaborate on this a bit: every job with a raid buff is, to some degree, reliant on their party for their parse. Jobs that do not have raid buffs (SAM, WHM, Tanks, BLM, etc) do not have their rDPS directly affected by their party.
That being said, especially at higher parses things like killtimes matter a lot, and in general killing the boss faster is better.

PvP was the only good use of the combat system but it was weakened by poor balancing, since PvE kits don't translate well to PvP leading to extreme disparity in class performance, and gear score creating gaps that are completely impassible with skill

If you spent a few hours every day for few weeks setting up a large gathering network for mats, then spent another 2 weeks manually gathering what you needed for profitable NPC turn ins, then left your PC on during the day and overnight to do their afk crafting system every day, then during the afk crafting period you could get say maybe 200 to 400k a week?
you should of course be permanently logged in anyways since their retainer timers don't run unless you're logged in
