There isn't really a fast and simple answer for this, but one thing you can do to maximize your damage is to give regens / hots time to tick. The party more often than not does not immediately need to be healed after something like a raidwide, or if they require healing they don't necessarily need to be healed to full.

At the same time, there's a lot of value in playing safe. More information would also be helpful, e.x. are you playing shield? The shield healer has the ability to take care of a disproportionate amount of healing if they're spamming GCD shields.

I (or someone else) could give more specific advice with a log or two, but at the end of the day the reality of an unoptimized healing environment (PF) is that resources tend to get used inefficiently.
