so like car 1 looks like this.. there will always be a safe lane in one of the 2 middle lanes so take the knockback in one of those and gap close back. it should keep you in that lane

car 2 there's no way to be knocked back all the way to the back if you start up front so it should be fine
it's really if you knock back to the back left or right, then gap closer will probably make you change lanes
