Typically (and this is more of a fantasy genre thing, not the real-world definitions), a conjurer deals in elemental magicks and illusion, a thaumaturge deals in sorceries and dark magicks, and an arcanist is something like a scholar of magicks who can use them with the assistance of spell patterns.
