multiplicative (30% and 20%)
100 * 0.7 = 70
70 * 0.80 = 56

versus
additive (30% + 20%)

100 * 0.50 = 50

since it's multiplicative reduction you end having less mitigation than anticipated
slow (arm's length) + mitigation works in the same way because it's effectively 20% since you're getting value of the slow but less value out of the mit since you're getting hit less anyway

usually best done with a tank job like warrior

even more efficient if done with a good partner

but more than 2 and I find that the efficiency starts dropping

spawn fates yourself

if the instance is truly empty then you should be able to solo most fates

they do scale based on number of people in the instance

other than that, just try to play during peak hours, make friends with people who are in the instance with you, and work together on spawning fates

with a tank job, you should be able to pull groups of mobs 2 or 3 levels above you

and kill them reasonably quickly

if you're duoing with someone then you can put in defensive magia and pull even larger groups

and let your friend go offensive magia and nuke them down

that's what my wife and I did to speed level through eureka

she played PLD with defensive magia, I played RDM with offensive magia and we just nuked groups of like 8 mobs 3 levels above us

not only do you get chain bonus, you also spawn fates

and those 2 jobs can just heal each other if needed

Hey, I have started recently playing free trial and so far I'm loving it (currently 34 lvl black mage and doing crafting jobs at the same time)

I'm thinking about buying complete edition because I already see myself playing it more. I created account through SE website and used their launcher. However, I'm thinking about purchasing the game through Steam, as it handles paying in PLN better (through SE I would have to pay in EUR, so I think conversion rates would increase price anyway) and has sale for Endwalker right now.

How is steam version? I heard they are different somewhat, so I assume I would need to redownload, which isn't a problem. But what about my progress made during free trial? There was some account-linking between Steam and SE. Would buying everything on steam have any downsides, other then having to buy everything later there?

yeah if you're not in heavensward, you can't do more job quests, the game tells you this when you finish the level 50 job quest for each job (same with level 60, 70, etc) becuase those quests are part of their respective expansions

It's easy enough to pick up since it starts at 30. Just be aware that your starting gear will be rather sparse so maybe consider picking up some accessories before diving into your first dungeon.

This is an important statement that quite a lot of people forget.

ARR gearing is super janky, and yeah while powerleveling alts with dungeon grind should give you a plethora of level-appropriate gear, just doing the MSQ doesn't help, quite often, and it's absolutely fine to invest in that stuff.

if you dye an item and then use that specific item as a glamour the dye will carry over

the same is true for when you place a dyed item into your glamour dresser, in which case you won't have to pay the dye item every time you want to use that item for that colour
