You'll need to do it through party finder, especially if you want to do it synced

You can do it by yourself unsynced at high levels, or look for an unsynced boost if you want to do the story at an appropriate time.

If you make a party finder for it and mention 'first time' you'll probably get someone to take you through pretty fast.

For any other 24- or 8-man raids, going through the normal version sight unseen is absolutely fine though. They're much easier than coils.

'What is Glamour and how do I unlock it?'

Glamour is the process of changing an equipment's look into a different item with the use of Glamour Prisms. You can unlock the ability to glamour by doing the level 15 quests 'If I Had a Glamour' in Vesper Bay, West Thanalan. Although not required, you can unlock the ability to dye gear with the nearby quest 'Color Your World'. You can get the Orange Juice needed by talking to the nearby Merchant & Mender. Items used for glamouring are not lost upon use.

'How do I glamour? Where do I get more Prisms?'

Glamouring is done by right-clicking (Square or X on controllers) on the equipment you want to glamour and choosing the option 'Cast Glamour'. After clicking this you choose the item you want the appearance on the right half of the menu that opened up. You can get more Glamour Prisms by either crafting them after completing the quest 'Absolutely Glamourous', buying them from your Grand Company Quartermaster, or buying them from the marketboard.

You basically never use it immediately, as you essentially make your previous thunder cast redundant

If so, no, and also that information is... basically useless because it changes constantly based on a variety of elements like people queueing up as incomplete groups, and (for roulettes) people queueing up with different eligibilities.

Yeah, pretty much. For the most part it won't make a big difference until you get to max level, as long as you're using your buffs, turrets, and basic rotation. That alone will put you better than about 70% of the population.

i keep getting, 2-3 times a day, DX error 11000002. I have done a complete clean install of windows 11 and am on the latest GPU driver from nvidia. Im using a 3080ti and a 5900x. I have used DDU to uninstall the drivers and rolled back to 4 previous driver versions and it still happens. This is the only game I can ever remember having this error with.

nah its less that DX11 is scuffed, its that people think they are getting DX11 related errors, when the only thing in the error message that refers to dx11, is the exe name.
its like getting a discord crash and saying its an "ord" error 😛
just because its in the file name, doesn't mean its related at all
FF14 error messages are fairly worthless, as only Square Enix devs would understand them. So the fixes are usually, throw shit at the wall and see what sticks.

What you can get through the MSQ/your job quests is good enough

Your job quests give you level-appropriate "white" quality weapons until level 30. Just, "green" dungeon-quality weapons generally have better stats - higher atk/m atk values + substats.

being better/worse isn't necessarily tied to the color quality of the items, it's more that the white gear given to you is crafted gear, which becomes as good as gear that isn't crafted when it has in the name and has glowy sparkles on the tooltip.
