No. In order to assign a retainer a job which has no class, you have to level the retainer to level 50 with any DoW/DoM class, you must yourself achieve at least 50 with that class (in this case Reaper) and then change using the Modern Vocation item purchased from the Retainer Vocate.

Retainers cannot start as a job, they have to start as a base class, meaning no job stone.

For HW the first step is to either go to each zone and do fates for crystals to turn into the base materials, or turn in a completed Zeta relic for them instead

Having it in your inventory? Yeah that will make it work.

Also, simply doing a HW relic won't make a difference; the first step of the HW relic has you either turn in your ARR relic for the items needed to start the HW relic or do a quick bit of farming to get drops to exchange for those items. So if you complete a HW relic via the latter option, you won't have the coding tag for "this person turned in their relic".

if you will be able to have access to crafted gear/don't mind spending a bit of gil for it, then getting i600 gear for now isn't the biggest deal since it'll be immediately outdated when the tier releases
