Not really an oversight; you're using the starting class gear, and Arcanist is a DPS, not a Healer. It just so happens that Arcanist is also the only class that splits into two possible jobs later on, which is a practice which SE has entirely abandoned because they hated it.

Anyway, the answer to "something other than summoner clothes" would be, as previously stated, any other class's gear, your racial gear, or no gear. I find the racial gear generally the most informative anyhow, since the appearance gear I use for my classes aren't remotely close to the class artifact gear.

Found the solution, make a new character, you get to look at the job outfits ahead of time, save character appearance, and just back out before finalizing

My personal tip for easiest field craft demimateria 1 are brass rings of crafting
They’re the cheapest item you can buy from vendors
And you can also use the leftover materials from desynthing them to make more of them
As for fieldcraft 2, I think I mainly did Aetheryte Rings
It only uses one Rose Gold Nugget and one water cluster

there is also a Target Filter feature, where you hold down a buttin (x by default i think) and it makes the cursor only be able to target certain things

to expand on it, it appears like a small dot, over the center of the character nearest your mouse, when holding down the Target filter hotkey. That NPC or whatever else you have setup in the filter, will be selected when you click.
when pressing the button, it also hides player nameplates
so you can see what you want to click better
great for example for clicking the summoning bell when there are 10 people around it

well, the summoning bell has a dot on it and highlighted, even though my mouse isnt on it

so next closest thing it does allow, is the bell, if i then right click, well it then opens the summoning bell and i can talk to my retainers 😄

now, to expand on this one, this is just enabling these settings in Character Configuration > Control Settings > Target
then if you cast a spell/ability that needs a target. but have none selected, it will pick one close in front of you , target it automatically then cast the spell/ability

Those two examples are really the only times English and Japanese deviate from each other to a notable amount, AFAIK.

Another examples is Estinien being more friendly and casual to WoL during HW rather than being stoic and official.
Also "that" scene with Y'shtola where Estinien response is more like "I think something is off about her" rather than "ready your arms"

So I've got in mind to transfer over to one of those new Light DC Worlds when the patch's due, but from my understanding besides not owning a plot or house (since I never dabble in that stuff in the first place) you also got to have all the items/certain amount of gil retrieved from your retainers and leave your FC, or am I missing other details?

Retainers will transfer over along with your character. No need to remove their items or gil.
And unless you're approaching the gil cap (999m) gil shouldn't be a problem either.
From what I understand about the furniture compensation, you'll actually want to buy an appartment before transfering (if you don't have one yet) since that essentially gets you a free 500k.
