You have to win the melee. Go after the enemies with the tether to gain points for your team. Protect Lucia when she gets tethered.

Then just beat Raubahn in one-on-one combat.
The only reason I can think of that you might be failing it is if your gear (and therefore your dps output) is too low.
It's designed to be nearly impossible to fail unless you run out of time.
Really the Raubahn fight is the only part where you can realistically fail the duty if you die.

Yeah, you also can't experience outdated content "like it was meant to be experienced" anymore anyway. Class kits have changed so much over the course of the game that even running the fights synced and at minimum item level only means your killing your kit (instead of having what would have been a full class kit at the time).

DoT's will snapshot. If you have a buff active when you apply the DoT, the buff will stay for the entire duration. If you refresh the DoT after the buff falls off, it'll drop to non-buffed damage.

Pretty much, yes. Duty Support was added to allow players who were wanting a solo experience and/or were nervous about grouping up with random players for their first time through, and to alleviate being stuck in queues for extraordinarily long amounts of time. But the Duty Support AI are programmed to balance their DPS output to the player's; if yours is high, theirs gets lower, and vice versa, so that the dungeon takes roughly 25-30 minutes regardless of who's running it.

yes, or you can sell blacksmith stuff to trade for the materials you want/need as this is the base of the market system. you exchange with other players, but if you want to be efficient, you should learn other craft/gather

cannot change a retainer from one job to another. it has to be a class to a job
so if you want your retainer to be a gunbreaker, just keep it as an archer until 60

Some mounts allow multiple people (2/4/8) to ride at once, with all mounts having the same movement speed. A partial exception to this rule is the SDS Fenrir, a mount from the Mog Station. The SDS Fenrir acts as if you have the first mount speed boost obtained from completing specific quests in the story, making it a bit faster than other mounts, but only until completing the relevant story quests for that zone.
Can I make my mount faster?
Zones have one or two ranks of mount speed that increase the ground speed of mounts. The first rank comes from completing specific quests in the main scenario quests, with the second rank coming from Riding Maps which are bought with either Allied Seals, Centurio Seals, or Bicolor Gemstones. Mount Speed Boosts do not increase the flying speed of mounts.

That's not an item I craft often, so I really have no reason to. But master crafting menus are such a clusterfuck that finding anything in them is basically like running a dungeon. And don't even get me started on how items on there don't get checked off when you craft them for the first time. They're master craft items, you would think completing one would be important to keep track of, unlike all those common items, but the dev team doesn't seem to think so. <_<
