the alliance raid is basically the catch up gear if you want a cheap start

Highest affordable. Moonward (570) will probably be easiest given that the tomestones aren't capped weekly; Limbo gear (normal Asphodelos raids) are unlocked for farming but you still need to win the rolls. Radiant and the 90 Alliance Raid gear are 590 but are weekly capped (one by tomestones, one by your weekly roll win), and Radiant sans weapon can be augmented to 600 with the twine/coating that drops from savage raids or in exchange for the weekly AR token reward.
Crafted (580) can also be augmented to 590, if you just want to outright buy it.

If you can weave it at the end to catch two F4 and a Despair, or even better a Despair (manafont) F4 Despair that's even better, but it's a very marginal difference over just making F4's instant
with regards to xeno, while it can come in handy for weaving sometimes, it often gets more general use for movement or just generally burned somewhere for damage at some point before you overcap poly stacks

POTD is instanced and has your stats unique to it, based on only aetherpool so that everyone is more or less the same power (not counting your classes’ skills)
You slowly accumulate more Strength to increase your performance each time, it being semi-permanent if you reach the checkpoints
Of course, there’s certain thresholds of floors and such for Strength accumulation but the gist is that more strength = better defense or attack
Look at the notices of when you collect silver chests to see which aetherpool was buffed. If you’re capped at that floor range, then you need to go to a further floor range
And you can always check what your current aetherpool level is

If you’re not in your group your party has a chance of dying due to less people in the stack. And you have a chance of getting a stack marker and screwing over another group by having a stack marker of your own

No. If a person doesn't have enough people in the stack with them, that person will die. If there are two stacks on top of each other, the people in both stacks will die.

"Failing" a stack marker means either nobody stacked with you (and you died alone), or two or more people with a stack marker stood together (and everyone who stacked in with them died)
Those are the only fail conditions for those.

For the most part there isn't a one size fits all guide for that sort of thing just guides for specific aspects like voyages and gardening and decorating. It would be too massive to compile all those things together, not to mention kinda pointless. Not every wants to pursue all of it as once so you only seek out the bits that are relevant at a given time
