If you are brand new to the game entirely, just enjoy the story, you've got a long way to go before you should worry too much about endgame optimisation. =)
If you have just reached the end of Endwalker, then bear in mind we've just about reached the end of this particular tier, so the best thing you can do for the time being is work on getting the best tomestone gear you can afford, and ... if you're feeling super froggy check out some guides for the Extreme/Savages and look for some parties in Party Finder that say something like "fresh" or "learning".

The housing was restored on the 17th. As per the announcement, the next lottery period will take place on the 26th. This gives the people who actually won plots but were denied their win by the server errors to claim their actual winnings.

Whatever you find comfortable and easy to access, and make sure to take advantage of the hold crossbar and WXHB options in the cross bar settings in character config
My general go-to for setting up jobs on controller is like this:
Set one Right Half = main combo/GCD skills you'll use very often.
Set one Left Half = low cooldown skills or buffs I use frequently. AoE GCDs sometimes go here depending on job.
Hold Crossbar = holds most of my main cooldowns and sometimes AoE combos. I also have both Hold Crossbar shortcuts lead to the same buttons for ease of use.
WXHB = niche/situational skills, like role actions

Bots generally make very fixed/precise movements, so SE can tell who is or isn’t a bot if they’re reported

So I have a friend who is considering coming back to play who is one of those people who basically skipped all the story and now realises they've kinda missed out on one of the big selling points of the game.
Somehow they skipped cutscenes while playing all the way through to shadowbringer.
What is the most optimal way to experience the story if you skipped it? I know there is NG+ but I know you get 0 rewards from it which is frustrating. There are plenty of recap videos but I think the thing they lack is the conveyance of the emotional moments and bomb drops.

Like, some of the moments in the final zone of Endwalker, a lot of people said they got super emotional, but I felt... nothing.

I hate gathering & crafting jobs so my friend does them for me but I still want to help out through combat means. I farm extreme bosses for materials for him but he also needs high level materials to desynthesize in order to create those weapons from bosses. mostly because its unofficial and scrapping information from the lodestone
out of all of the censuses, its the most reliable because it looks for changes to the lodestone profile. like exp gained, new minion etc

If you make a permanent world change, you must give up any houses, plots, and apartments you own.
They can't transfer with you, mostly because someone on the server you're going to most likely already owns the corresponding plot on that world.
