They also say their ending target times, and last patch they said was going to take all day as well.

But the point is that all Red (far) debuffs are always on the outside corners, and all Purple (close) debuffs are always near each other. Each time the debuffs resolve, if a single Far person is too close, or if a single Close person is too far, the mechanic will kill people.
If your party is getting people killed on the first Fourfold damage, then people are getting into position late and the group needs to learn to position better. If your party is getting killed on any of the other three hits, people are in the wrong position. That's all there is to it.

That's your party's positioning.
Paying attention to who dies will tell you who was wrong.

If you need Sprint to make it to your marker in time then you started the mechanic horrendously out of position.
What I would advise is putting your Debuff indicator somewhere closer to the center of your vision and increasing its size to around 160-200%, so it's easier to quickly see.

The biggest difference, imo, is that it doesn't demand your time and attention every day. It's designed in such a way that even if you take months off, you can catch up to current tier endgame gear relatively easily.
The only grinds are optional.
Graphically it's on-par with most other cross-console games.
