So it sounds like you accidentally left the quest area after doing Porta. Lahabrea fight is unrelated to queueing for the dungeon, it’s a solo instance. Check your journal to see if it has a note about what to do if you leave the area.

If you mean for the Nexus step of farming light, the bi-hourly bonus light changes were typically monitored by other players and shared, but nobody does it anymore, so you'll have to experiment yourself.
For example, doing Sastasha/Aurum Vale unsynced, and at the end of the dungeon, checking whether u got a "Brilliant" amount of light, or "Blinding" amount.
if you got Brilliant, it means that dungeon doesn't have the bonus light at the moment.

What i would do is check on every bi-hour period, check the dungeon Satasha and Aurum Vale
If any of them gives u Blinding amounts of Light, then u can spend that period farming that dungeon
Otherwise wait for the next bi-hour period to try again

For your GC rank, you can do FATEs/hunting log until you reach Second Sergeant
Then you unlock "expert delivery" which lets you turn in dungeon drop gear for seals at your GC headquarters.
This is the primary way most players get seals.

Your retainers can only become a class that you already have unlocked, and their max level is determined by your max level on the job. To give them a job, you need to buy a vocation from a retainer person in a major city
