How do I unlock melding?

Complete Forging the Spirit (materia extract/npc melding) and Waking the Spirit (player melding) in Central Thanalan.

How can I get my gear melded?

To meld visible Materia slots a NPC melder in any major city will do (marked with a Blue Materia icon on the map). To overmeld gear you'll need to request another player to meld your gear or to do it yourself.

Why can't I meld this Materia to my stuff?

Every Tier of Materia has a minimum item level requirement that gear must meet to allow melding of that Tier. Tier 7 and 8 Materia require an item level of 420 while Tiers 9 and 10 require an item level of 560.

Why is my meld giving +0 stats?

Every item has a maximum amount of stats that can be given through melding and the natural stats found on the gear. This can be seen at the bottom of the Materia Melding menu, as seen in the picture below.

The secondary stat with a higher number is already at the cap and cannot be further melded.

I recently just bought the 6 month subscription and am thinking of buying the starter edition so I don't have to worry about taking the disc out when I want to play. If I buy the Starter edition, I should still have access to all the other expansions and my Character right because the Endwalker expansion includes all the older expansions.

Just ask someone in the novice network to boost you to level 60 - the early BLU levels suck but leveling is very quick with a little help.

its pretty much the same as normal collectables, except most of the materials come from diadem (or you can just buy them on MB yes)

avoid the yellow-name craft that awards the most scrips because it's an expert craft that requires like a billion collectability, its the savage of crafting

Hey so I'm using the cross hotbar on pc, and it's been perfect aside from certain duties where you for example get in a walker mech or need to use a cannon. Those actions appear in the normal pet hotbar which I then need to click with the mouse as they don't appear in my cross hotbar frustratingly enough. Is there any way to make them appear there instead of the normal pet hotbar?

Just fyi, switching to the pet hotbar like I do for scholar and mounts by tapping the right bumper doesn't work.
