Questing content in XIV isn't really designed to be done in a group, and most people will do dungeons using the duty finder, which automatically groups you with other players.
You also don't really do a lot of world grinding in this game as, again, that's not really how it's designed.
If you want to have other people to play with, you might want to look for a social, new-player-friendly Free Company (player guild).
