For both Savage and Extreme fights, there are always at least a couple of role-specific mechanics - tankbusters, raidwide damage, etc. - but most mechanics are universal to deal with.

I go through keyboards like clothing and honestly the only thing that's really mattered between them is the key feel. Mechanical feels good, but it's...loud and annoying. Membrane is quieter, but also has issues with ghost keys sometimes.

A glamour item must be the same or lower level than the equipped item, so yes.
The theory being that if the item is higher level then you should just equip it rather than using it as glamour.

Anyway, raid weapons would also fall a little into this category as I said a bit before, similar to ultimate as something that drops from challenging content, but is genuinely good gear as well when current (as Asphodelos is now). People can use old raid weapons as glam, but that should about cover pretty much every type of fancy relic like weapon you might see

Summoner doesn't change terribly much. Bahamut replaces DWT, Phoenix simply alternates with Bahamut once you acquire it.
You won't need much filler, or ideally any at all, once you hit 90 and get access to the unique primal spells as well.
It is an extremely comfortable class. People gonna rag on it for being "too braindead", but that can be a good thing for people with a difficult time working with the concept of rotations, or people with arthritis
and it's visually fantastic and feels good to play.

The only thing I'd keep in mind is that you will want to get used to using Titan first in your summons, because at 90 its gemstone GCD grants you a really strong oGCD per cast, and that's what you want to fit in the end of the buff window.

Odd question, with people farming the New Tomes. Why are alot of people farming Aurum Vale? I thought Prae and Castrum gives out the most (im only on HW)

ask your FC, try #recruitment-primal, or put up a PF listing and ask for help
more often than not people aren't going to know how to powerlevel a BLU but still want to help
so here's the method
do not be in a party, have them play a shield healer like sage or scholar, go to a level 70 zone (ahm araeng is best, near the inn at the southeast), you tag the mob with Flying Sardine and they shield you & AoE everything down
rinse and repeat for 45 mins, boom level 70
