I have a really arrogant question but know this is not my intention:
So, I've been playing healer for pretty much my entire FFXIV experience(57 Scholar, 65 Astro).
I tried branching out to BLM, and that was pretty fun. There's a lot of thought to be had in resource management/positioning.
Now I'm trying other classes, because I don't like Astro anymore(Endwalker...) but they seem really dull compared to healers in terms of macro play
As a healer you have to DPS, rotate abilities, move around, heal your(often goofy) allies, and so on.
I don't really get the same kind of difficulty with other tanks/dps. What am I missing here?

there's a feature called snapshot in the game, basically as soon as the aoe circle disappears/cast bar finishes you're "snapped" into place at that point, and will still take the hit, that's likely why

I am trying to find a DPS that is relatively easy if I’ve come from other mmorpgs with little to no combos. Bard is feeling overwhelming at level 41 with all the buffs and DoT etc. i was interested in trying out red mage or dancer when I am able to, but what’s a good ARR-able DPS class to use in the mean time? I am new to the game so i want to understand the basics before HW too. (i do like BLM and WHM that I’ve unlocked, but want a break from the healing/MP management

if you’re looking for simpler rotations I might also recommend tanking, pretty basic rotations and easy to run in early content as long as you remember mitigations
one thing to note for DRG is that some of its abilities have comparatively long animations so it can be harder to weave stuff efficiently at higher levels
