Of note is that you may still run into issues clearing ShB content if your aim is to do it solo. ShB is still fairly recent so gear creep hasn't brought us entirely to the point we can send DPS off by themselves.

Hey so I remember hearing in one of the pre-EW liveletters that they were supposedly doing something to make leveling alt classes easier in EW. What exactly did they do differently?

It wasn't an express intent. It was a side effect of the number compression they did across the board. They included the experience totals to reach each level in that compression.
That's also why they strongly encouraged everyone to hit those breakpoints with their alt classes, because doing that compression required them to reset exp-gain between levels to 0%.
So if you had, say, Monk at level 62 and you were 87% of the way to 63,
you would be reset back to level 62 and 0%.
But as a result of the compression, the ratio of XP gained per enemy defeated (or per boss/dungeon run) to XP required per level increased.

On Windows, with Steel Series Stratus Duo controller (used it for years) but getting back on and the GUI has changed, the game menu options are now in the bottom right corner, instead of when you hit Start button and they pop up in the center). Joypad is set to enabled and all movements work, but Hot Bar is stuck on keyboard, no matter what... gutted. Any time there's 3+ enemies, you should be spamming your AoE combo instead of ST combo
