Any class is fine, just know how to do rotation, we dont really need perfect rotation just make sure you know how to execute it and you will get it optimized eventually
If you want do roulette, most adventurer in need in elemental server is tanker, sometimes turns into healer
Alliance raid, trial, and normal usually turns into dps once a while but most of the time its tanker or healer

But there are still some mechanics you need to keep an eye out for because they can still hurt a lot

The closest WoW comes is the Mythic-only phases of the last boss of each raid tier. And even that's more analogous to the Savage-only phase for the 4th boss of each normal raid tier.

use the duty finder to queue into the battlehall, which is in the last category of duties
there you can either choose to duel NPCs or other players for points
two of the NPCs (Lyra and the NPC directly across them) are pretty easy to do for points, but you basically need to win all 20 matches for a chance of being on the leaderboard

when starting flight you're usually level, at least on standard, just pressing W/S will not change your angle,
so you shouldn't rise/sink w/o pressing space/ctrl+space.
on controller however I think it always puts your angle w/ the camera so SoL there.

It looks like you make a copy and open it, go to Set Builder sheet, select your job on the right, set your current gear and melds from the dropdowns on the top table. Copy and paste values to the bottom table. Then upgrade a piece on one of them, such as the bottom, to see the comparison. Undo it, try a difference piece, repeat.
