red mage is a weird hybrid between melee and caster (no positionals) but its a really easy class. Summoner is also easy to pick up and you can pick up slide casting quickly. avoid black mage unless you want to play high risk high reward. (or if you think its fun)

If I'm not doing anything with a class other than leveling/MSQ roulette/WTs to level, then yeah, I also only get tomestone gear every 10 levels. But if I'm doing other stuff with it, then level [x]3 dungeons are about where dungeon gear outpaces tomestone gear from the previous expansion, and [x]4 for HQ/[x]6 for normal quality white gear.

Also, most of your stats come from your gear, so being overleveled is only really beneficial so you can be over-geared—at which point you'll be synced down to a capped level/stat bonus anyway. So if you're being punished by a solo duty, either you aren't paying attention to the mechanics it's asking you to do, or you're egregiously undergeared.

If you're wanting to level DPS in Bozja, I recommend using /shout chat to look for a group to join. Participation is calculated by aggro generated, so if you're not a tank, your individual contribution will typically be pretty low. But as a party, the whole party's aggro gen is added together to calculate each individual's contribution.

Also, with trusts currently, queue times for dungeons shouldn't be an issue. You'll run each dungeon at a pretty static pace since the Trust members' DPS output will balance up or down depending on your personal output, so there isn't a way to speedrun anything with trusts—aside from how confident you are at pulling a whole hallway's mobs to your trust tank such that the trust healer can still keep them alive—but you also aren't at the mercy of DPS queues.

Trusts take longer regardless who you bring but it's still a good thing to do. If you don't like Bozja, try dungeons or FATEs in any new zone. They're less stressful than bozja and you can grind the rank 3 target away 😉

I've finished almst 5 zones for FATEs now just doing those inbetween daily roulette and queues. I too dislike Bozja, even before the whole leveling spam. You can also do all the sidequests (small exp rewards but there's a LOT of them and they clutter the map so win win)

I think Bread was saying if the pet auto attacks cleave. But it's also irrelevant because the Summoner pet no longer auto-attacks. Summons just show up, drop their sicnasty rhyme (charging the target if scripted to), and bounce. About the only positioning needed to worry about is where regular Carby is so Searing Light has the maximum effect.

so it can easily miss nearby targets if you select the wrong target

and the titan targeting circle for its attack is a bit weird and i found that i needed to target the furthest enemy in the group for the center of the attack to hit the whole group

The main issue with pet placement pre-EW was that, if the pet wasn't pre-placed, you'd lose some early autos as it closed the gap to the target.
