The only time you might wanna gear differently is when it comes to ultimates. Where certain items won’t be scaled properly and so the lower ilvl gear might be more fitting to thst specific content.

Potentially. Some things you can try, run a speed test every 5-10 minutes and see if there any inconsistency. Second thing you can do is see if your dropping packets from the server. this was my case til I upgraded internet how to test this; open command prompt, ping (inter your dc/server ip here) you can add -t to do constant pings but only do it for a bit. This adds small stress to servers

But it’s highly unlikely that the servers are intentionally disconnecting you. Usually a disconnect happens after 2-3 packets are dropped so if you’re noticing that drop during your ping test it’s more than likely not the servers, rather your internet or the path it’s taking to the server. If you have a vpn enable it. If you’re currently using one disable it and see if this affects your connection in any way

It is updating "Normally" for the most part and I do not use any 3rd party programs, I launch it directly through steam.
Sometimes it downloads a few GB's before I get the error, sometimes the error shows up as soon as I start the launcher so i'd say it happens randomly. Thing is, whenever it happens I lose most if not all the progress I have downloaded during session.

I don't remember WHEN exactly it started because I havent played for a few months. I just came back because of EW and since the EW update i've been having trouble updating my game. I was able to update the 9GB patch through pure force of hatred (Restarting the launcher as many times as necessaries and taking what I could get). However I had to reinstall the game a few days ago because some files got corrupted ( was getting DX11 and kernel error) and now I'm having to re-download the whole game through sheer force of hatred again. Kind of wanted to find a fix to that in case I need to reinstall the game (Again) and not have to go through this whole stress again

So... I'ts been almost 3 weeks of putting in support tickets and even calling square enix support via their number, and I still have not received any in game message from a GM. I've been killing time doing fates and leveling crafters but yeah nothing...
I've run into a issue with a MSQ that just wont progress and the only way for me to fix it, is if a GM comes and abandons the quest for me. Would be in Endwalker by now but I haven't been able to get around this bug as its completely out of my hands. I get that FF14 is more popular than ever and a expansion just dropped but I'm honestly kinda cheesed not one GM has come to me in almost 3 weeks.

...Anyways, now I'm fed up and now I'm gonna have to spend 30$ to do a MSQ skip of Shadowbringers just to get around this bug. So my question is, how does new game + work? I don't want to miss out on the story that I missed so I was wondering if you can choose where new game + starts and if there are any restrictions on it.

Typically Job Quests are contained within their expansions separately. If you have not reached the next expansion in , you need to continue the main story quests until you reach the next expansion, denoted by giant letters naming said expansion.
