It's generally about 7 runs per 2 levels assuming you're doing the highest level leveling dungeon available.

Skill macros don't check to see if a skill queued or executed properly after the attempt to execute them is made. They just "press button" and then count that as a success. So most macros with skills have the macro spam that skill button to make sure it goes off as/when desired.

It's usually recommended to level all crafters simultaneously. They all feed into each other. Like blacksmiths make metal pieces that a carpenter would need, or alchemists make a chemical that you use as a weaver, etc. But you don't really need to do that if you don't mind spending some money here and there. You can technically level any crafter on its own just fine. If you plan on leveling more, however, weaver or blacksmith are decent places to start as they can make gear as you level.

Depending on how fast a dungeon pull goes, you can sometimes start with the MB portion so that you line up neatly at the top of the set with WM when you get to the boss, but that choice depends mostly on your experience and the competency of your party. For all other raid/trial situations, leading off with WM is ideal.

Materia & Melding FAQ

How do I unlock melding?

Complete Forging the Spirit (materia extract/npc melding) and Waking the Spirit (player melding) in Central Thanalan.

How can I get my gear melded?

To meld visible Materia slots a NPC melder in any major city will do (marked with a Blue Materia icon on the map). To overmeld gear you'll need to request another player to meld your gear or to do it yourself.

Why can't I meld this Materia to my stuff?

Every Tier of Materia has a minimum item level requirement that gear must meet to allow melding of that Tier. Tier 6 Materia requires an item level of 290 while Tiers 7 and 8 require an item level of 420.

Why is my meld giving +0 stats?

Every item has a maximum amount of stats that can be given through melding and the natural stats found on the gear. This can be seen at the bottom of the Materia Melding menu, as seen in the picture below.

The secondary stat with a higher number is already at the cap and cannot be further melded.
