That's a bit out of date, but easiest solution would be creating a new free trial account in a few weeks
If you want to keep your old character buy the starter edition which is everything in the free trial + all the social features. If you're super committed to seeing this through, buy the complete edition(NOT COLLECTOR) which is the starter edition + all expansions

assuming the level 50 player is using the best possible level 50 gear, basically the same stats.
syncing puts you at the best possible stats that are reachable at that level's gear, unless a specified item level is listed, then that is used.

Gathering classes share gear with each other. And crafting classes do too. So it's generally recommended to level all of them at the same time so that you can share the gear.

If you've never done any hunts before, you'll need to start from your Grand Company and do the unlocks (they're quick) in each expansion. The initial quest is called "Let the Hunt Begin" or something like that.

Yeah. I mean easiest way is to play when no one else is on. Alternatively they can create an account on a diff dc opposite where they live. Ie if NA go to JP or EU and try to play. Might be laggy but more doable for time constraints if the dcs aren’t in primetime

enter the duty finder menu (U on pc) > on the top left you have a little gear > press "unrestricted party" > do the wonderous tails stuff
at level 71 you should be able to easily solo ARR EX as you retain your level 71 stats against level 50 enemies, there's a big difference there

Not really. It's more proc-based than most other classes. Keep dots up on enemy, keep a song playing, do your rotation and react to the procs as needed.

if you're getting the "unable to obtain character data" on the character select screen, you need to either wait for a later hour when servers aren't quite as congested or just keep refreshing the character select screen until the server is able to obtain character data to use your fantasia

I can't say I did, no. I actually ended up keeping pace with the MSQ in terms of level consistently, although I did have rested xp bonus and FC xp buff. I actually ended up hitting 90 before 90 MSQ.
