Well, Carpenters make bows and Bards tend to wear Leather armor, so Leatherworkers. But for practicality's sake, you'll want to level all the crafters because their materials feed into each other.

Otherwise you'll be at the complete mercy of market forces.

What does Endwalker job balance look like now?

We cannot meaningfully discuss or draw major conclusions about Endwalker job balance for a number of reasons:

1. The current sample size of recorded runs is too small to eliminate RNG. Even in the data we do have, there is too much variance in player skill, rotations, party composition, and killtime to be able to make any conclusions.

2. The currently available gear is too limited/inconsistent, and future gear’s mainstat/substat distribution may affect balance.

3. Patch 6.05 will likely hold extensive job changes, just like 5.05 did (see: https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/topics/detail/b6083dbda4e9497698b64163ffc8cee52472b81a)

4. While basic rotations have been theorycrafted and simulated, optimal rotations are dependent on encounter and party makeup. Fight design, job synergies, and yet-to-be-discovered niche optimizations are all things that can influence job balance.

5. Preliminary data is often misinterpreted and spread, causing more harm than good.

Job balance is better left for approximately 1 month after Savage release, since there are more recorded runs, better gearing options + BiS sets, and fight designs are known.

Any current definite claims about job balance are at worst clickbait or pure speculation, and at best educated guesstimates that are subject to change as available information changes.

When the servers are not overloaded, you can create new characters. I know from experience that European ones are not full at the mornings so I would suggest attempting then.

Personally I use 150% on 1440p, but you might want to try them all to see what works for you. For UI resolution, there's a separate setting in the system config in the graphics settings.

Relic Weapons FAQ

"What are Relic Weapons?"

Relic weapons are special weapons created and upgraded through a questline which is gradually added to in an expansion's lifespan and requires time spent grinding, spending tomestones, or even Gil to complete. Relic weapons don't become the best weapon until the last main patch of their expansion. A Realm Reborn has the Zodiac Weapon, Heavensward has the Anima Weapon, and Stormblood has the Eureka Weapon.

"Should I get a Relic Weapon from the older expansions?"

Unless you want it for glamour then no. There are much easier weapons to get that are comparable in stats to the final step of the relic.

"How hard are they to make?"

Each of the relic weapons have their own main factor in difficulty. Zodiac Weapons can potentially cost over a million Gil to complete depending on server economy, Anima Weapons require a somewhat large amount of Tomestones of Poetics, and Eureka Weapons require a lot of time spent grinding in specialized zones made for the relic.

If you have all of the DoH and DoL leveled, you can gather and make stuff people want to turn a profit (i.e. housing items in preparation for Ishgard housing). But right now things are crazy since the expansion dropped.

You don't have to walk everywhere. The aetherites are fast travel points, provided you are remembering to unlock them when you find them. You'll also get a mount eventually if you haven't already.

ive seen people say palace of the dead is a good way to get exp but you start at level 1 in it? does the exp you get from palace of the dead transfer into your main character and not the one you use in palace of the dead?

You get an exp bonus for completing sets of floors.

After you complete floor 50, you unlock the ability to start at 51. So most people just do 51-60 over and over for the exp bonus.

And the bonus goes to your class outside of potd. The rest of the exp you get inside is completely separate.
