go to Eastern La Noscea, Wineport, and see if there's a blue quest there for maps, if it's not there you've done it, alternatively buy a cheap map from the market(like zonureskin which are ShB maps worth crap) and try clicking it

So Phoenix had an issue with the error "world full try again later" which I finally got to go through. But now I am in a permanently stuck 598 queue position (for over an hour now).
I've loaded in in that Position btw.

You only need a gatherer to collect maps yourself. You can still use maps from the MB if you did the quest to unlock the map actions.

Honest Crafter Question: Do people EVER buy the Release Purple Scrip ARMOR as an Omnicrafter because I highly doubt I want to fill my inventory with 9 SETS of Left Side Gear

Just make sure you hit it only once to turn it on and leave it on (you'll have it as a buff). I've seen sprout tanks hit the button on every cooldown, which just turns it on and off.

Yes, steam only downloads the launcher and like some of the original ARR files. Then the XIV launcher downloads what you actually need.

How do I unlock my job?

To unlock your class' job you need to be level 30, complete all of your class quests and the main scenario quest 'Sylph Management' (lvl 20 quest) to be able to pick up your job unlock quest. Once you've done the initial unlock quest, you will be given a soul crystal which you must equip to become your class' job.

Glamour FAQ

'What is Glamour and how do I unlock it?'

Glamour is the process of changing an equipment's look into a different item with the use of Glamour Prisms. You can unlock the ability to glamour by doing the level 15 quests 'If I Had a Glamour' in Vesper Bay, West Thanalan. Although not required, you can unlock the ability to dye gear with the nearby quest 'Color Your World'. You can get the Orange Juice needed by talking to the nearby Merchant & Mender. Items used for glamouring are not lost upon use.

'How do I glamour? Where do I get more Prisms?'

Glamouring is done by right-clicking (Square or X on controllers) on the equipment you want to glamour and choosing the option 'Cast Glamour'. After clicking this you choose the item you want the appearance on the right half of the menu that opened up. You can get more Glamour Prisms by either crafting them after completing the quest 'Absolutely Glamourous', buying them from your Grand Company Quartermaster, or buying them from the marketboard.

If you can get the character screen without the "unable to obtain character data" error, you can right click your character name and choose visit another world. Although I'm not sure that that is guaranteed to work currently. It definitely doesn't work when you have the data error though.

Standard, Preferred, and New Servers will dynamically open and close themselves from newly created characters depending on how many players are online. To ensure you're able to make a new character on your server try waiting or doing so at a less active time of day.
Congested Servers will not unlock for new players or transfers until Square Enix removes the Congested Status.

Make sure you check sell history to get a better idea of how consistently these items are selling.
