Max level dol takes a bit more thinking when you need to gather stuff that's not 100% HQ chance. Or collectibles (but even those have simple rotations)
Although gathering won't give HQ items after 6.0 anymore, so probably something's going to change to retain some difficulty at max level

Ah yea, I guess after the returner status wears off, you'll get the sprout icon back if you haven't met the current requirements, which is 168 hours playtime and Stormblood MSQ finished (including patches) iirc

gear is the crafted 90 white gear, recipes for new combat gear are released at the same time as savage, you can gather some of the mats ahead of time yeah but not everything(forgot if it's sand or tome materials you need that is released with the books), food there's a new recipe book but it isn't necessarily the BiS food, pots I forgot I wanna say there's a new tier maybe
you can kinda just look at 80 stuff to see how it worked, especially using gamerescape wiki which notes the release patch on items

for example it uses Ethereal Silk which was added in 5.05, which uses Multifaceted Cotton Cloth a material added in 5.05 for tomes, and ethereal cocoon a folklore node added in 5.0 which had no use before that
so you can just gather a bunch of the starred 90 mats that have no use to prepare for that, and make sure you have tomes/money ready to buy new materials
the leather and the grade 2 mind alkahests work the same way, need tome mats+pre existing mats to make new mat

You'll still have the old tomestones in your currency, but their only use will be to trade in for poetics during 6.0. Usually at one of the tomestone vendors, such as at Mor Dhona.
So you'll be able to spend your poetics on whatever, then trade in the old tomestones to get more poetics

Seems like a waste of money to buy shadowbringers now when I can just buy endwalker and have access to it next week.
