no really "BiS" for crafters since melds are catered more or less towards what u want to craft, but that's with the high tier set from balance
If you're trying to get into crafting and getting pentamelded, don't bother, expansions hits in a week and all those melds will go to waste before u even hit level 90 on crafters

ask a lvl 80 to help you level near the beach in kholusia with the many lvl70 mobs, you hit/tag the mob and the lvl80 helps you kill it but you cant be in a party while doin it

You'll have to level them up by gathering, though your Class Quests and Leves let you level them faster by having you create or gather specific items
Once you hit 60 and complete the 3.3 MSQ in Heavensward, you gain access to Ishgard Restoration which is also another source of EXP
Except for Job Advancements and Arcanist jobs (Summoner and Scholar) nothing shares EXP

i usually recommend, starting a new char with your new appearance first, to make sure you are really happy with it
some things look different, in-game vs the char creator
i especially like to see their expressions/emotes and its caused me to change my mind on using a fantasia before
also remember you can change scenery and rotate the character in the creator, left click and drag mouse, rotates the char, right click and drag rotates the camera
