i would probably recommend Red Mage. It's a little bit easier and has more freedom of mobility. With Black Mage you mostly stand in your ley lines but you have to manage your mana intensively if it's not something you've memorized @leaden ginkgo

as Steam will trigger a re-verify of the game files, which with MMOs that use their own downloader for updates, many times it makes the game redownload all files again
though I dont use FF14 on Steam myself, but I believe it doesn't patch through steam, it uses the FF14 launcher

As far as I am aware, there are no unlock conditions. You do need to go to the right item section, though. It's under Purchase Furnishings (Other), provided you're actually at one of the eight Housing/Apartment Merchants.
If you are on the Free Trial, since you cannot buy housing (which includes, I believe, apartments), this may preclude you from purchasing items.

but highly unlikely itll get corrupted after redownloading, more likely, the move will make it delete the files and the entire game will redownload like it was just installed
I am also assuming you are moving it to a library on a different disk from within Steam, not moving it manually, no idea what manual move would do

@covert stump 1. - Even if you buy a job boost, you will not be able to partake in any of the activities your friends do dungeon / raid / trial wise unless they do the same lower level content that you have unlocked that they have already done.
In short, if you wanna do higher level content like them, you will need a story skip as well. I would not do this if you enjoy the story

I have a question because I’m a little confused about this. Does it take the same amount of xp to get all classes to 80 it’s just DPS has longer queue . Because say to get to 80 and you have a 79 class for DPS it takes 37 million xp. If I switch to a healer that is also at level 79 would it also take 37 million xp to level it up or will it be a different number

All my classes are 70 so what I did for the last class is just do bozja until 79 and then spam mt. Gulg until 80 but idk if that’s a good strategy

What is the difference between extracting and retrieving materia from an item?
I'm hoping to reuse the materia, if the item breaks it does not matter, if that makes a difference

Retrieving has a chance to fail, but you only lose the materia if it does
