I didn't get to say it, but you don't really need high level gear for MSQ, and so when you get to 60 just outfit yourself with poetics, and they would be mostly enought till 70, when you get poetics again

When can I get my first mount?
The quest that allows you to use mounts, ''My Little Chocobo'', is unlocked by completing the level 20 main story quest ''The Company You Keep''. The quest is located at the Grand Company base you chose, and you'll need to buy a Chocobo Issuance from your Grand Company Quartermaster. You can get the 200 required Grand Company seals by doing the main story quest that comes immediately after ''The Company You Keep''.
Are there any differences between mounts?
Some mounts allow multiple people (2/4/8) to ride at once, with all mounts having the same movement speed. A partial exception to this rule is the SDS Fenrir, a mount from the Mog Station. The SDS Fenrir acts as if you have the first mount speed boost obtained from completing specific quests in the story, making it a bit faster than other mounts, but only until completing the relevant story quests for that zone.
Can I make my mount faster?
Zones have one or two ranks of mount speed that increase the ground speed of mounts. The first rank comes from completing specific quests in the main scenario quests, with the second rank coming from Riding Maps which are bought with either Allied Seals, Centurio Seals, or Bicolor Gemstones. Mount Speed Boosts do not increase the flying speed of mounts.

If you're just trying to get ilevel to do the MSQ, replace your lowest ilevel possible with Cryptlurker gear, and anything else with Crystarium gear.
If you don't have the tomestones, just go do the highest rank of Eden or NieR that you can.
That will both earn you tomestones, and a chance at some gear upgrades.

ARR relic weapons are only useful as glam.

Relic weapons are an alternative to raid or tomestone weapons which are upgraded step by step over the course of the expansion. At the end of an expansion the relic is slightly BiS but not significantly.
It's equal ilvl to the Savage raid drop weapon.
It's BiS because relics have customisable substats
Relics don't end up BiS until the end of an expansion though.
They upgrade gradually, remaining a step behind the current raid weapon for most of the expansion.
A big part of the appeal of relics is also that they look very super glowy though.
And yes relics that aren't from the current expansion are obsolete and only desired as glamour
(though they're shiny enough that a lot of people want them for that)

though keep in mind, after restoring the data, things maybe a bit wonky, especially if your screen resolution changed since you last played, but at least u hotbars will have the buttons in the right place, so ull just have to move them around a bit
