What are the cheap ways to improve ilvl while leveling if dungeon drops aren't enough? Keep running into ilvl barriers. There's the AH and vendors, but both would mean spending 10s of thousands of Gil for temporary gear, and there's Poetics, but I don't want to farm out a full set to abandon that in a few levels either.

Hey all! Im new, im rly interested in FFXIV, but I have two questions..

1. Ive heard this game has quite the crafting, trading and life skills. Things such as smiths are even playable classes or so I've hears?? But my question is basically.. is it possible ti start totally new into this game with a focus on the agricultural aspects and/or other life skilling aspects, like gardening or chocobo breeding, and perhaps level yourself up thru the game mainly by these noncombat skilling? Or is required to start with a base of combat & questing first, potentially as part of the tutorial??

2. Second... I know this game is subscription based.. i also know that the process of buying the game and its expansions is different from time to time, like with seasonal sales, game time cards, etc.. so ive read a guide that stated if you wanna start without free trial, it is suggested to buy starter pack and buy the seperate expansions after.. alongside that, i also read that standalone version is better than steam version because of more sales, discounts etc..

So now I wondered, considering the latter, since theres this sale going on worth of 60% percent discount on the comple edition, should I go for thar instead? And if id go for that, how much does the monthly game time rly cost? And how much would it cost to buy several years of gametim in advance??

This game is story heavy. Even the professions have their own storylines that you have to go through. This is true of (almost) all content in the game rn. I think you should use the free trial to figure if you want to continue with this game before buying it or spending money on a skip.

you need to do extraneous work to get allied seals. You get GC seals by just running dungeons, which you're liable to do a lot anyway
