How do I unlock my job?

To unlock your class' job you need to be level 30, complete all of your class quests and the main scenario quest 'Sylph Management' (lvl 20 quest) to be able to pick up your job unlock quest. Once you've done the initial unlock quest, you will be given a soul crystal which you must equip to become your class' job.

PLD - Balanced, Jack of all trades, tons of utility, easiest to use
WAR - HIT ME, I FKIN DARE YOU (Tankiest of the bunch)
DRK - Mahou Shoujo/Shounen Dark Knight
GNB - I'm a DPS main

That's the combo starter

30s cooldown, 450 for the first hit of the combo

PLD - the white bread of tanking, you have your melee, you have some magic and some self healing, your invulnerability just straight makes you invincible
WAR - You have a good chunk of self healing, and rather than mitigating damage itself you tend to mitigate via self healing and doing damage
DRK - you eventually get tbn which gives you a buffer for your health and you do a lot more offensive stuff than the previous 2
GNB - they die before you die so you live longer, plays like if you gave a dps mitigation, a lot more focused on offensiveness for survival
as you can see its kind of a line from defensively focused to offensively focused, but each one is focused on you staying alive through a fight
this be my take on it at least

From what i'm seeing on a wiki, you need to clear the entire Ishgardian Restoration Main questline, followed by 1 Ishgardian Restoration side quest (The Brume Lifts), before the quest for unlocking him is available
