firstly to note, retainers can only go as high as you are in that job
for combat retainers, it doesn't matter what class/job they are. they all bring back the same items. between the gathering retainers, its fairly even between botanist and miner, fisher is a bit more niche
usually recommend atleast 1 combat and 1 gatherer, but 2 combat are perfectly fine
