when you get synced down, assuming the duty doesn't specify a specific item level to sync to, your stats adjust to the best possible gear that you would have at that level

So at level 50 content, you get synced to item level 130, as the best level 50 gear is Augmented Ironworks at i130.

level 60 syncs to i270, and 70 to i400

and once Endwalker launches, level 80 content syncs to i530.

you notice it a lot more in the level 15-49 dungeons

since gear before level 50 generally only has one secondary stat, AKA stuff like crit, direct, and det

while all gear at and past level 50 has two secondary stats

so you get a lot more overall power in those dungeons compared to someone that's still using pre-50 gear.

Hey! I'm a beginner and just started trying the game out. I'm still playing on a free trial the get the feel for the game and weather I should invest more time and money into it.
And I had one question that is still persists, and I couldn't find the answer online.
As far as I understand, free trial includes first DLC Heavensword, that has more jobs within it. And, to get to the new job you need lvl 50, while the lvl cap on the free trial allows you to go up to 60.
So, if I wanted, for example, play as Machinist on my free trial, is that possible?

How do I unlock melding?

Complete Forging the Spirit (materia extract/npc melding) and Waking the Spirit (player melding) in Central Thanalan.

How can I get my gear melded?

To meld visible Materia slots a NPC melder in any major city will do (marked with a Blue Materia icon on the map). To overmeld gear you'll need to request another player to meld your gear or to do it yourself.

Why can't I meld this Materia to my stuff?

Every Tier of Materia has a minimum item level requirement that gear must meet to allow melding of that Tier. Tier 6 Materia requires an item level of 290 while Tiers 7 and 8 require an item level of 420.

Why is my meld giving +0 stats?

Every item has a maximum amount of stats that can be given through melding and the natural stats found on the gear. This can be seen at the bottom of the Materia Melding menu, as seen in the picture below.

The secondary stat with a higher number is already at the cap and cannot be further melded.

Why am I Past lv50 Without the Abilities of My Job

Typically Job Quests are contained within their expansions separately. If you have not reached the next expansion in , you need to continue the main story quests until you reach the next expansion, denoted by giant letters naming said expansion.

That I know, trial is just to get to know the game. So some of my questions:

• Is there any point in buying the complete edition now, given that Endwalker comes out soon and has to be bought separately? As I understand, after it comes out, the complete edition will also have it?
• I started as a black mage, but the job feels awful around 40 level and that's why I am undecided if I should purchase the game. You constantly spam one spell, boring as hell, is it like this with every other job when leveling?
• Can you have multiple different jobs at the same time? Or are you locked to just one but you can switch between them?
• Some jobs are locked behind the level + version of the game, like Samurai. If I start as some other job X, and then I switch to Samurai, what happens?
• I'm a casual, can't really spend tons of hours on the game - when it comes to the endgame, how friendly it is for people like me? Compared to WoW where you have to raid all the time or you're left behind with no real way to progress?

BLM, well in my opinion most classes don’t feel good until past 50. And you can swap between classes at any time and level up multiple at once. Also endgame is pretty forgiving and getting best in slot is fairly straight forward for a mmo

1. you uncap gil and gain social features. You'll also get access to shadowbringers and stormblood which need to be finished to play Endwalker.
2. enjoyments is subjective but most jobs are very gimped until 50+. Black mage is even weirder
3. you can have literally every job on one character. That's one of the main sells
4. jobs introduced in later expansions start at higher levels I'll use a bot command in asec
5. the game is very time/Casual friendly but that's a larger discussion

Buying endwalker now will give you a special heirloom-like trinket, very handly while levelling.
You can have as many jobs as you wish, your job is decided by the soulstone that you have equipped.

• I noticed there are lots of professions for crafting, do you have to devote yourself to 1/2, or like with jobs, you can pursue them all? Are they extremely time-consuming? Are they something you can focus on for the endgame, like crafting and selling?
• Dungeons/raids related:
  - WoW is known for the toxicity, so far I haven't encountered any, but how is the the high-level stuff? I heard that FFXIV
  has a strict policy on that?
  - The endgame grind for BiS/top items - what could be considered the best items? Relics? Is the grind awful in terms of
  time needed? Is there something like normal/heroic difficulties that award different items and you need to have a
  premade team/guild?
  - Are all classes viable, or are you frowned upon if you do not play some sorts of a meta class?

Armoury EXP bonus FAQ

'How do I get the bonus experience from the Armoury?'

As long as you're playing a Disciple of War or a Disciple of Magic class that's a lower level than your highest level class then you're able to benefit from the bonus experience. You do not need to have a class at level 80 for the bonus to be active.

'How much is the bonus experience?'

You get +100% experience from levels 1 to 69, which then reduces to +50% for level 70 to 79. The difference in level between your current class and highest class does not change the amount of experience you get.

But there is 4 types of aggro

Sight, sound (running vs not), spellcasting (for sprites) and Blood (Low hp, mainly Undead)
