Which is the strongest DPS to play?

FFXIV is extremely balanced for MMO standards, and their main differences come from other aspects like synergy, aesthetic, and playstyle. Play what you think looks cool or what feels fun to play first.

DPS performance differences via job design within roles are small enough to be completely insignificant for the overwhelming majority of players, and are very contextual:

• In a vacuum, job differences within roles appear to only be around 0.5% to 2% apart, which only amounts to mid to low hundreds when we're doing like ~24,000 RDPS. The problem is that these vacuum scenario comparisons generally don't exist in practice.

• Variables like encounter design (including ultimate phasing), kill time (down to a few seconds), strats and party composition/synergy can swing RDPS by a couple of thousand, or even reverse job trends.

• Crit/direct hit RNG alone may swing +/- 1000 RDPS from the average. This number is usually smaller for Healers and Tanks, but still exists.

• Even a small difference in skill/comfort, like dropping a couple of GCDs, a broken combo or two, slight misalignment of burst, and/or simply knowing a few more advanced mini-optimizations on one job vs another can amount to a few hundred RDPS difference or more.

You need to be playing multiple jobs at the same level of competence on a GCD-by-GCD level, in pre-planned party compositions, with predictable killtimes, comparable knowledge of niche optimizations and a high kill count for this to make any tangible difference. And even then, it’s still a relatively minor difference. Skill, personality, and job comfort come first.

The right questions to ask are what are the playstyles, strengths/weaknesses and synergies of each job pertaining to your specific situation.

running the roulette after getting the daily bonus is not the best idea, it's just gonna be a random dungeon with normal exp for that level, so if you get sastasha on a lvl 79 you'll get like 1% of a level if anything
