using ACT so far i seem to do more damage as tank than most dps players in my team because i learned my rotations and other people tend to not bother and just press 123, but when fights last long enough and people are all doing their job properly, a dps will do like 30-40% more damage than tank and healers, with that being said, the latter two roles can deal a lot of damage and should absolutely do so, especially the tank

touch actions increase quality (for hq results or higher collectability rating) and synth increases progress (towards finishing a craft). generally want to increase progress to where one skill will finish it, then max out quality (or at least try when leveling) then finish (will get extra xp even if dont get a hq)

the big difference in dealing damage for tanks and healers is that healers have like, 1 single target damage ability and 1 aoe, so they just spam that over and over to great effect, tanks play more similarly to dps, they have rotations with many oGCD abilities (except warrior where it's just unga bunga fell cleave)

depends on if per character or account wide. usually it takes a couple min if its character locked, 5 min to 5 hours if account wide (depending on how overworked server is. cruze chaser mount had people waiting more than 12 hours on aether when left to its own devices)

dps classes have the most complex rotations and have to keep track of different buff windows, so doing optimal dps with them requires way more effort than tank or healer

one thing you should try to figure out is what ability your class is going to use the most
for instance both dragoon rotations start with true thrust
so true thrust is probably going to be the button you press the most
it should be bound somewhere comfortable and spammable

the difference in recruits is mostly race / starting class for the purposes of team chemistries
the stats are otherwise identical if trained the same way if they are on the right class

the great thing about squads is that new recruits will always ahve the highest lvl of 1 of your already existing squad members
meaning once a squadmembers reaches lvl 50 all new recruits will also be lvl 50
