'Which world should I pick?'

You can play on any world on any datacenter within FFXIV. Aside from the languages spoken, the physical location of the servers, and the status of each world, there are no major differences. This also means population on a given server is quite meaningless.

The majority of content is cross-world, with the exception of Free Companies, Linkshells, and restrictions when visiting other worlds.

If you don't mind where you play, choose a world that is Preferred or New for character creation bonuses. Check world status by using !status <world name> or via the Lodestone. For information about the status types, use !faq worldtype in #kupo-bot-spam.

Notable worlds:

  • Balmung & Mateus (Role-playing)
  • Tonberry & Kujata (Large amount of Oceanic players)
  • Moogle (Large amount of French players)
  • Shiva (Large amount of German players)

'How do I unlock Hunts?'

ARR Hunts: Be 2nd Lieutenant in your Grand Company and complete the quest 'Let the Hunt Begin' located at your Grand Company. You can promote to 2nd Lieutenant by talking to the Personnel Officer and buying promotions for seals and by completing the GC Hunting Log and the quests 'Shadows Uncast' and 'Gilding the Bilious'. This must be done to unlock HW Hunts.

HW Hunts: Go to Ishgard - Foundation at x13, y11.9 and complete the quest 'Let the Clan Hunt Begin' from Aytienne. Followup quests are 'Better Bill Hunting' from Eustacia, 'Top Marks' from Yloise in Idyllshire, and 'Elite and Dangerous' from Ardolain. This must be done to unlock SB/SHB Hunts.

SB Hunts: Go to Kugane at x10.4, y10.3 and complete all quests with 'Veteran Clan Hunt' from Estrild.

SHB Hunts: Go to The Crystarium at x12.2, 15.1 and complete the quest 'Nuts to You' from the Hume Lout. Afterwards complete all quests from Halldor at x9.5, y9.4.

    Hello! I was recently suffering from DX11 crashes like the ones in this thread and referred to it for help while fixing my problem. I've never had trouble with the game before until after upgrading my PC (motherboard, RAM, SSD, basically everything except my GPU) I started having crashes only in FFXIV and no other games.

    I should note my crashes specifically involved me being in crowded areas or anything graphically intensive, otherwise it was (for the most part) stable. I tried all the usual: reinstalled my drivers, my game, windows itself, removed any programs that might have conflicts like reshade, and nothing worked.

    After much trouble, I finally found the problem: the settings for my RAM in my system's BIOS. I'm not a computer expert so my understanding is limited by from friends who helped me it seemed that my system was attempting to run higher than what it was capable of which resulted in FFXIV crashing constantly with DX11 errors. I had to read into my motherboard and RAM's capabilities to find out the numbers and had a friend go in and help me set it right. Lo and behold I have no more crashes and no more issues.

    If you're having troubles with the game still I suggest you to look into if it may be some kind of hardware issue. Find someone that can help you look and check these settings if you have no idea how to do that. I do NOT recommend changing anything in your BIOS without help!!

  • 3x mini game (I do the logging beside verminion aetheryte)
  • 100 mgp from minigames
  • 5x verminion win, unlock stage 4 (the ine you fight gobbue and spam that), per round takes me slightly over a min.
  • go into battle Hall via duty finder last tab. Win wyra green hands 10x for triple triad challenge logs.
  • if you want you could also click the GATE, triple triad tourney and chocobo racing ones. But those are mor le time consuming or depends on actual event times.

  1. when levelling an alt, how should I go about gear from lets say 1-49. Im running out of space because i keep certain classes gear from dungeon drops for every few levels.
  2. the levelling guide says to do dungeons, how does potd fair in this. I hear its best to do potd from 50-60. which is the more efficient or fastest way. I know it should be about fun and not burning myself but im down to run whatever atm.

@spring oasis at anytime you fail (char die), you are lock in that x1-(x+1)0 where x is 0 up to 19 instance, can not progress further. You have to delete that save, replay from floor 1 or 51. On the aetherpool farming, reach floor 51, spam that 51-60 until you get boring
