'When can I get my first mount?'

The quest that allows you to use mounts, 'My Little Chocobo' is unlocked by completing the level 20 main story quest 'The Company You Keep'. The quest is located at the Grand Company base you chose and you'll need to buy the Chocobo Issuance from your Grand Company Quartermaster. You can get the 200 needed Grand Company seals by doing the main story quest that comes after 'The Company You Keep'.

'Are there any differences between mounts?'

Some mounts allow multiple people (2/4/8) to ride at once, with all mounts having the same movement speed. A partial exception to this rule is the SDS Fenrir, a mount from the Mog Station. The SDS Fenrir acts as if you have the first mount speed boost obtained from completing specific quests in the story, making it a bit faster than other mounts until completing the relevant story quests for that zone.

'Can I make my mount faster?'

Zones have one or two ranks of mount speed that increase the ground speed of mounts. The first rank comes from completing specific quests in the main scenario quests, with the second rank coming from Riding Maps which are bought with either Allied Seals, Centurio Seals, or Bicolor Gemstones. Mount Speed Boosts do not increase the flying speed of mounts.

smaschaap: you can easily level two combat jobs at once with msq xp. also, at that level I'd suggest not bothering yet with mass-DoL/DoH. picking up one as you go (my suggestion would be culinarian because it is rather self-contained, unlike the other ones which depend on crafts from other DoH) to get the idea of how crafting works would be a nice thing

also you can already pick up all three DoL and level them as you go, just gathering stuff in the new areas you unlock

I FIXED LOGIN ISSUE 2002 ( the lobby server connection has encountered an error ). Worked immediately after. Block ICMP and IDENT on my router settings (log in with 192.168.1.1 or whatever it is set to) and changed it there.
