Which Grand Company should I choose?

The only differences between the three Grand Companies are the looks of the equipment and where they're located. How do I get Grand Company Seals?

You can get more seals mainly by completing your Grand Company Hunting Log (Go to the Hunting Log and click on the GC icon), completing FATEs, and turning in crafted/gathered items to the Personnel Officer if you have crafting or gathering classes unlocked. Once you are Sergeant 2nd Class you can turn in Pink/Green/Blue-rarity gear in exchange for more seals.

hey everyone 🙂 Since I am nearing max level (76 atm, about to fight ||Titania||) I want to get into becoming better at the game. I'm reading on the PLD rotation in #pld_resources, and got it down pretty well. It looks overwhelming but it's really just getting the "flow" down.

But I keep hearing that it's best if I start working with damage parsing, and level a healer/dps on the side for when needed. Now I want to do both, but due to some mental healthcare issues (medication etc etc) my brain isn't working at full speed. Meaning I can decently keep up with the PLD rotation, but anything more complicated starts messing with me, and I screw up.
I am trying to decide between WHM and AST
For DPS I am stuck between BRD, NIN and SMN

What would you guys/girls/potatofells advise? Sorry if it's an insanely stupid question 🙂

Largely just play what you like, although I'd recommend trying each role(tank, dps, healer) for the experience. Red mage and dancer are probably the easiest dps and whm is definitely the easiest healer. If you want to take tanking to a simpler level I'd say try out warrior.

Hmm, I'm not that knowledgeable about minmaxing. Okay Stamina and very good max speed means that your chocobo can run really fast, and can continue to run for slightly longer. Your previous build was running kinda slowly, but being able to hold the W button for like the entire race. I think the previous is safer, but I'm not sure is the garbage acceleration and max speed would hold up with other NPC chocobos. This one is slightly risky, I think it would shine on shorter tracks.

'When can I get my first mount?'

The quest that allows you to use mounts, 'My Little Chocobo' is unlocked by completing the level 20 main story quest 'The Company You Keep'. The quest is located at the Grand Company base you chose and you'll need to buy the Chocobo Issuance from your Grand Company Quartermaster. You can get the 200 needed Grand Company seals by doing the main story quest that comes after 'The Company You Keep'.

'Are there any differences between mounts?'

Some mounts allow multiple people (2/4/8) to ride at once, with all mounts having the same movement speed. A partial exception to this rule is the SDS Fenrir, a mount from the Mog Station. The SDS Fenrir acts as if you have the first mount speed boost obtained from completing specific quests in the story, making it a bit faster than other mounts until completing the relevant story quests for that zone.

'Can I make my mount faster?'

Zones have one or two ranks of mount speed that increase the ground speed of mounts. The first rank comes from completing specific quests in the main scenario quests, with the second rank coming from Riding Maps which are bought with either Allied Seals, Centurio Seals, or Bicolor Gemstones. Mount Speed Boosts do not increase the flying speed of mounts.

Like Kael said, for some things. Not for Cure or Regen or what have you, but for some party oGCD buffs or something its ok. As long as you list it 12 times, I find it easier for certain ones. Dragon Sight, Cover, Aetherial Manipulation, I have one for The Darkest Night... etc.

Some skills you might also consider just macroing not to a mouseover but to "Player 2" like <2> or etc.
If you're just only EVER going to Shirk or Intervention the other tank in 8-mans, for example. Just stuff to consider, we cant tell you what works best for you
