I found levequests to be better than Diadem before 50, but that's probably because I didn't have access to gathering manuals to boost XP gain. If you have manuals then I think diadem is the fastest.

when you meld materia the screen will show you what stats the piece has and what the cap is for that stat on that piece, it's possible to meld above that max (called overmelding) but not something you will need to do at low levels

You can technically meld any materia to any gear, but most of it is pretty obvious - Craftsmans materia are useful for Crafter gear, Gatherer's materia for DoL gear, and the rest for combat jobs
As mentioned, overmelding is "mostly" for a) crafters/gatherers and b) endgame raiding

Just know your limits and if toxic players try to be toxic just ignore em or kick
But at the same time, do remember to use your kit

People also react differently to tanking and healing in general - for me tanking is even less stressful than DPS, but I'm not a good healer
Where my friend is the complete opposite, she finds healing less stress than DPS even (even ABC healing with damage)

I find tanking hella easy, you just throw yourself at some (or all) the mobs, pop a tanking cooldown, and start mashing buttons
