Retainers are unlocked after completing the Main Story Quest The Scions of the Seventh Dawn (Quest). To Unlock Ventures and Retainer Classes,you must complete the quest An Ill-conceived Venture (Side Quest).

Players can hire Retainers by talking to a Retainer Vocate near the Market Board of the 3 main cities. By default, you can only hire two Retainers, but you can add up to 7 additional retainers (for a total of 9) from the Mog Station on the Final Fantasy XIV Lodestone. The FFXIV Companion App also gives you an extra retainer (past that 9 for a total of 10) if upgraded to premium, alongside double Chocobo Saddlebag space.

'What is Glamour and how do I unlock it?'

Glamour is the process of changing an equipment's look into a different item with the use of Glamour Prisms. You can unlock the ability to glamour by doing the level 15 quests 'If I Had a Glamour' in Vesper Bay, West Thanalan. Although not required, you can unlock the ability to dye gear with the nearby quest 'Color Your World'. You can get the Orange Juice needed by talking to the nearby Merchant & Mender. 'How do I glamour? Where do I get more Prisms?'

'Which world should I pick?'

You can play on any world on any datacenter within FFXIV. Aside from the languages spoken, the physical location of the servers, and the status of each world, there are no major differences. This also means population on a given server is quite meaningless.

The majority of content is cross-world, with the exception of Free Companies, Linkshells, and restrictions when visiting other worlds.

hi all, i'm a free trial player that is trying to grind out my ARR relic for the glamour, and i'm at the part where you need tons of materia. so i've been trying to spiritbond with lvl 41-44 gear but it seems like the spiritbond % never goes up unless i do dungeons. i know about the +/- 10 ilvl requirement so i only do dzamael darkhold, but killing lvl 40-45 mobs does nothing to my spiritbond % even after i kill tons and tons of them, was wondering if there's something i'm fundamentally missing and sorry for the wall of text

The fact that it isn't consistent between jobs means that every job can kill the dummy but some do it faster, or is it that some jobs seem bad against dummy but it's ok because there are no buffs

Can someone explain how the stupid "Forming Party" thing works in Duty Finder? I'm not even new it's just frustrating, lol. I'm currently queued for Orbonne as a tank. I've been in queue for over 45 minutes now. A couple of minutes ago it was showing 3/3 tanks, 3/6 healers and like 5/15 DPS. I looked back a couple of minutes later and somehow it went down to 1/3 tanks, 0/3 healers and 2/15 DPS or something. Queue never popped. What the heck?
