Leveling roulette is only good once a day.

If you already bought the game via Steam you need to create a new account if you want to swap to the standalone version.

You can link standalone FF14 (not-steam version) to steam as non-steam game.

With a skill like Addle, which reduces a target’s Int and Mind, how do decide when to use it? I assume it only affects targets that do Magic damage or self-heal. Do you just make an educated guess based on what the target is attacking you with?

You can play on any world on any datacenter within FFXIV. Aside from the languages spoken, the physical location of the servers, and the status of each world, there are no major differences. This also means population on a given server is quite meaningless.

The majority of content is cross-world, with the exception of Free Companies, Linkshells, and restrictions when visiting other worlds.

If you don't mind where you play, choose a world that is Preferred or New for character creation bonuses. Check world status by using !status <world name> or via the Lodestone. For information about the status types, use !faq worldtype in #kupo-bot-spam.

I googled a bit and as far as I gather, FC is a guild (with benefits like exp boosts and housing?), Linkshell is for messaging with people on the same interest (like RP or gathering I guess?) and Fellowship is a notice/advertising board? I'm not sure I'm getting this right.

Once you hit level 15 as a healer you can level solely through dungeons and msq. You can skip side quests entirely and use them for other classes.

Heavensward Jobs and How to Unlock Them

Heavensward Expansion Jobs: Dark Knight (DRK, Tank), Astrologian (AST, Healer), and Machinist (MCH, Ranged DPS). These jobs start at level 30 and require the completion of the level 50 main scenario quest "Before the Dawn".
Since the 5.3 update DRK, AST, and MCH are now included in the free trial/Starter edition of the game, though the unlock requirements are still the same.

Job Unlock Locations:
Dark Knight - Ishgardian Citizen at The Pillars (13,9), quest name is "Our End".
Astrologian - Jannequinard at The Pillars (15,10), quest name is "Stairway to the Heavens".
Machinist - Stephanivien at Foundation (8,10), quest name is "Savior of Skysteel".

Yes, you should be able to purchase and just hold on. You and your partner will just complete the EB quest once you both meet the requirements (Class at 50, complete an MSQ quest, Not Free Trial players.. etc)

Why am I Past lv50 Without the Abilities of My Job

Typically Job Quests are contained within their expansions separately. If you have not reached the next expansion in , you need to continue the main story quests until you reach the next expansion, denoted by giant letters naming said expansion.

There are, they're in the Crystarium - divided into "Facets" instead of just crafters. Sort of like Role Quests that they share, there's 5 Facet quest lines to do
(They're INSANE experience but you only get to use the quests on one out of two or three classes so pick wisely)
