arguably GP is the most important stat because you can realistically never have enough of it. gathering/perception you only need to certain amounts to hit the appropriate breakpoints but at the end of the day you can make due with yellow/white scrip gear and not really worry about that

My friend is a level 70 SMN and we cannot figure out how he is able to use Summon Bahamut when Dreadwyrm Trance only gives one Dreadwyrm Aether. At level 70, they only have access to Enhanced Dreadwyrm Trance 1, and at 72 they get Dreadwyrm Trance 2. Very confused where this second amount of Dreadwyrm Aether is coming from that allows them to use Summon Bahamut.

Tenacity is generally ignored for tanks (because people prioritize damage, not mitigation), spell speed is CERTAINLY ignored for tanks, and skill speed is usually never melded on tanks because they can almost always get enough with just normal gear. As well they used +20 materia on level 80 gear when they could be using +40 or +60, but yeah. That Weapon is atrocious, and the rest is just bad

melee lb is more effective for single target, but caster and phys ranged lb is better than melee if there's multiple enemies
generally it's better to use caster/phys ranged lb in dungeons, during big mob pulls, as those are more dangerous for the tank
otherwise melee use them on bosses

'When can I get my first mount?'

The quest that allows you to use mounts, 'My Little Chocobo' is unlocked by completing the level 20 main story quest 'The Company You Keep'. The quest is located at the Grand Company base you chose and you'll need to buy the Chocobo Issuance from your Grand Company Quartermaster. You can get the 200 needed Grand Company seals by doing the main story quest that comes after 'The Company You Keep'.

'Are there any differences between mounts?'

Besides looks, all mounts are the same speed along with being able to fly. Some mounts allow multiple people to ride at once.

'Can I make my mount faster?'

Zones have one or two ranks of mount speed that increase the ground speed of mounts. The first rank comes from completing specific quests in the main scenario quests, with the second rank coming from Riding Maps which are bought with either Allied Seals, Centurio Seals, or Bicolor Gemstones. Mount Speed Boosts do not increase the flying speed of mounts.

To qualify for a chocobo mount you'll need to focus on the main story. This unlocks the first 3 dungeons, and battles the primal Ifrit in a trial between level 20-30 depending on side quests and other content you do. You then join a grand company and complete the quest My Little Chocobo. In the quest you need to purchase a Chocobo Issuance from the Quartermaster for 200 Company Seals. Seals can be acquired from doing your grand company hunting log, FATEs, or guild levequests.
