they're the same class ( caster ) but one moves a lot and deals damage and the other stays still and deals damage
It's about what you prefer pretty much, but i do have to say you can move a lot once you get further in into the passive procs
you're able to move forever and even have teleport abillities to get you out of stuff
so you're less based on moving on your own as well

i suggest you gather all of the cards from other masters before attempting him, to get the feel of the game and how it's played, also look up on how the Plus rule in triple triad works so that you won't be confused where you lose the whole board against him

hows the learning curve for samurai?
speaking from an objective standpoint, samurai's learning curve is very strange
at 50, the starting class, it's simple: get 3 sticks to do damage, keep dot up
when you get kenki, you manage that by not overcapping and trying to align it with raid buffs, which is not that bad
at 76, when you get a skill called tsubame, samurai becomes the hardest class in the game to play well due to its rigidity and rotational complexity from trying to keep it not drifting

my steps
- practice your class well. read up on it, learn the rotation, get it done. hit a practice dummy until you're pretty good with the rotation
- bring that into regular fights. not extremes/savage, just regular fights. try to get good in those fights. you don't need to be perfect but do your rotation well and with uptime
2b. if you want, you can also parse and then upload your fights to fflogs and then xivanalysis to point out your mistakes. not necessary, but very helpful - after enough confidence, feel free to make learning parties on PF or join a discord dedicated to recruitment. you should then practice by doing harder fights after learning your rotation in normal fights
3b. do extremes first since they are less hard than savage
