potions, the healing kind, are mostly unusued after early on

there is another type of "potion" called tinctures which buff you damage for a few seconds and those are mostly used in raids in end game

What are Role Quests?

Role Quests serve as a replacement for Job-specific quests for Shadowbringers and are split into four categories (Tank, Healer, Physical DPS, and Magical DPS). These are unlocked with the quest 'Warrior of Darkness' at 71 and all start in the Crystarium around x10-11, y15-16.

At least one of these Role Quest series must be entirely completed in order to complete the Shadowbringers story. Completion of these quests, along with having the appropriate Job at 80, is also required to claim job-specific level 80 i430 gear from Grenoldt in The Tempest.

How do I unlock my job?

To unlock your class' job you need to be level 30, complete all of your class quests and the main scenario quest 'Sylph Management' (lvl 20 quest) to be able to pick up your job unlock quest. At the mail moogle you can also click the request delivery button (or something, forgot what it's called) which will ask for the delivery. could still be a while before you get the ding though. i had to wait around an hour for an outfit

'What is Glamour and how do I unlock it?'

Glamour is the process of changing an equipment's look into a different item with the use of Glamour Prisms. You can unlock the ability to glamour by doing the level 15 quests 'If I Had a Glamour' in Vesper Bay, West Thanalan. Although not required, you can unlock the ability to dye gear with the nearby quest 'Color Your World'. You can get the Orange Juice needed by talking to the nearby Merchant & Mender. Items used for glamouring are not lost upon use.

'How do I glamour? Where do I get more Prisms?'

Glamouring is done by right-clicking (Square or X on controllers) on the equipment you want to glamour and choosing the option 'Cast Glamour'. After clicking this you choose the item you want the appearance on the right half of the menu that opened up. You can get more Glamour Prisms by either crafting them after completing the quest 'Absolutely Glamourous', buying them from your Grand Company Quartermaster, or buying them from the marketboard.

No, glamour CAN be done on a piece-by-piece basis but it costs a prism every time.
If you use the dresser, you only put it in with one prism and then its free forever.

Dresser is just useful though, so I say go for it anyways

Unlock a dungeon (usually for MSQ ), then you complete it once and move on with your life
Seperately, once a day, whenever you feel like it, you can queue for Leveling Roulette - you'll get thrown into a random dungeon from any level you have available for that job, and roulette will give you a HUGE bonus at the end. Then you again move on with your life and queue for the roulette again tomorrow, if you want more bonus

For this one - no and no. Your level will go down to 20, your gear goes down to 20, and your stats go down to 20 - as well as you lose all your skills except the ones at 20!
Thats why its important to keep your low level skills on your bar, you could need them at any time

It's an evolving weapon. As you do a very long questline, it gets better and better. Nowadays it's only useful for the glamour though, and it's really long and grindy and soul-killing.

I think in total you have to do about 100-150 dungeons and alliance raids, 75-100 fates, lots of random item collecting for exorbitant prices, and it's also incredibly unclear most of the time what step is next
