Heavensward Jobs and How to Unlock Them

Heavensward Expansion Jobs: Dark Knight (DRK, Tank), Astrologian (AST, Healer), and Machinist (MCH, Ranged DPS). These jobs start at level 30 and require the completion of the level 50 main scenario quest "Before the Dawn".
Since the 5.3 update DRK, AST, and MCH are now included in the free trial/Starter edition of the game, though the unlock requirements are still the same.

Job Unlock Locations:
Dark Knight - Ishgardian Citizen at The Pillars (13,9), quest name is "Our End".
Astrologian - Jannequinard at The Pillars (15,10), quest name is "Stairway to the Heavens".
Machinist - Stephanivien at Foundation (8,10), quest name is "Savior of Skysteel".

I've heard 1.0 was being developed for 3 to 5 years. With 2.0 even if they already had an idea of what world and lore and characters to build and style of gameplay thanks to 1.0 it's still hard to imagine they make 2.0 in just few months after 1.0 ended.

So how long did they developed 2.0 before launch? Though I'm sure it's less time than 1.0 cause 2010 to 2013 would make it 3 years or less so sounds amazing but would like to know the date though, lol XD

Anything that gives tomes will help you. You can upgrade 510 Exarchic gear to Augmented Exarchic 520 (I assume thats what you have) in eulmore at the Gear Exhange girl, do final Nier Raid for 520, or weekly tomes for Cryptlurker (520 upgraded to 530)

The duty is "Ultima: Hard Mode", not a dungeon but an 8-man Trial. Nobody queues for it so you will need to find more people to help you in Party Finder probably.
Theres no reason to do that fight at all though so dont feel like you have to

the quest you showed us in the screenshot says complete Minstrel's Ballad: Ultima Weapon. That's the name of the trial in the Duty Finder, and you don't need to be solo (even though you can). You just need to complete it and then go back to hand in the completed quest

Well sure, because its part of the combo. They added Goring Blade for PLD in Heavensward but its still part of the PLD rotation, so its not been removed (for example). Or, they add new skills that take the place of old ones (DRGs "Raiden Thrust" from SB shared the same button as "True Thrust from ARR", ex.)
But they've removed Stoneskin and Stoneskin II from healers to cut down the buttons they had. Things come and go.

basically each expansion contains its content and all of the stuff before it iirc
however, you only get those benefits once the expansion actually releases (mainly talking about the upcoming EndWalker)

Any specific questions? Its pretty straightforward, A Realm Reborn was the base game (level 1-50 content inclusive). Heavensward came out two years later (level 51-60), then Stormblood (61-70) and now we have Shadowbringers (71-80).
Endwalker comes out in the fall and its 81-90.
