Glamour Prisms pre-date the Dresser, yeah - you can glam individual items at any time with a Prism and it consumes 1 Prism from you. Just right-click your gear thats on you and you should be able to select "glamour" to do a one-off

Yes, technically - repeatable quests that reset daily, biggest example is "Beast Tribe Quests" where you do work for a race of monsters to get exp and other rewards. Also consider the "Duty Roulette" to be a soft daily quest

dragoon is a very set rotation job where the details involve weaving in skills (jump and buffs) in order to be a team player. samurari is just a go forth and kill things job that is a little more flexable in how you make sen (for finisher skill use) and kenki (as a spender). both have positional attacks although push comes to shove can ignore that for uptime (less potency attacks in drg, less kenki in sam).

The gear requirement just between ARR (1-50) and HW (51-60) is actually quite a BIG jump, so you have fair gear. But it would be easier with High quality gear. Many players went into HW with melded gear to make it easier too but I wouldnt recommend.
its just tough to get HQ, gotta use those skills.

Almost the same - craft it yourself, buy it off the marketboard. Or you can use Scrip gear (gatherer currency) to obtain some sets by gathering special items for NPCs.

blm can be rewarding if you're ok with learning the wonders of slide casting and dont mind relearning rotation every 7 levels. bard slowly grows complexity wise but is a lot more mobile (much more apm which is either a good or bad thing depending on play preferences)
