PVP is special - no levels inside pv, you can go in at level 30 and its the same for everyone (no level, no gear, etc)
Otherwise, there are leveling sections of the game (1-49, 51-59, etc) and there are pockets of "endgame" for each expansion. Shadowbringers raids are lv 80 (which is what most of us do), but there are outdated raids at level 50 which still exist. For fun

Generally, yes - but you can run them "unscaled" or "unsynced" at all levels manually. Normally when you queue for an old raid (like "Crystal Tower"), you will get pushed down to level 50 no matter what you are currently.

No, incorrect - old raids will drop old, outdated gear (level 50 > level 50). The reason you would do those is for story, or for transmog (glamour).
Only the most current raids (level 80 endgame) will drop the endgame gear

'When can I get my first mount?'

The quest that allows you to use mounts, 'My Little Chocobo' is unlocked by completing the level 20 main story quest 'The Company You Keep'. The quest is located at the Grand Company base you chose and you'll need to buy the Chocobo Issuance from your Grand Company Quartermaster. You can get the 200 needed Grand Company seals by doing the main story quest that comes after 'The Company You Keep'.

'Are there any differences between mounts?'

Besides looks, all mounts are the same speed along with being able to fly. Some mounts allow multiple people to ride at once.

'Can I make my mount faster?'

Zones have one or two ranks of mount speed that increase the ground speed of mounts. The first rank comes from completing specific quests in the main scenario quests, with the second rank coming from Riding Maps which are bought with either Allied Seals, Centurio Seals, or Bicolor Gemstones. Mount Speed Boosts do not increase the flying speed of mounts.

Its good to rotate through them, keeping them on cooldown here and there - but often you need to keep something up for a big "tankbuster if you know its coming"

Which world should I pick?

You can play on any world on any datacenter within FFXIV. Aside from the languages spoken, the physical location of the servers, and the status of each world, there are no major differences. This also means population on a given server is quite meaningless.

The majority of content is cross-world, with the exception of Free Companies, Linkshells, and restrictions when visiting other worlds.

If you don't mind where you play, choose a world that is Preferred or New for character creation bonuses. Check world status by using !status <world name> or via the Lodestone. For information about the status types, use !faq worldtype.

Tank swap means the main tank needs to give up Hate/Enmity to the OTHER tank, as in they need to force the boss to Swap who it is attacking. Very common mechanic in XIV and its why you need 2 tanks

If you made your char and you try to login to a world thats full, youll just get put in a queue. It will put you in your world automatically when theres room, just patience

Having the camera be directly above you or close to that makes it easy to target mobs with mouse

hello, im wondering if anyone could give me any quick help. if not it's ok i emailed a support ticket. i'm basically trying to play the free demo and i downloaded the launcher and such and made a square enix account. when trying to log in using the game launcher it asks for the one time password which i am using google authenticate for but i'm continuously getting invalid id or password error despite resetting password and reloading the launcher and doing just about anything else i could think of. :C any ideas?

I'm dodging th AoE's but I still get damaged.
