Levequests are a great way at higher levels, and collectables too. Otherwise, a combo of Beast Tribe Quests (Ixal, Moogle, Namazu etc.), Grand Company Handins, Class quests... I'm not seeing much for guides here in this disco but you can check the doh lounge for starters, its hard going but once you get it you get it.

One last note is the "Cross-world Linkshell" which is just an open chat-channel you can create for yourselves, to chat easily at all times. (DMs / Tells dont work in instanced content in XIV so I'd recommend this, if you arent using Discord I guess )

But dont worry, even if you get the lowest dungeon, the EXP boost at the end will compensate you fairly

While it's a flat percentage drop rate, for Heavensward EX trials onwards, you'll get a totem upon each completion. 99 will get you the mount if you're so unlucky as to not see the mount that many times.
